NEWS ALERT[/b][/size]

I just heard a bit of news that everyone should know....Touchdown Tommy has brokered a deal to make Under Amour the new uniform provider for SJU.

While this is big news on it's own...with the commission that is coming to TDT it has allowed him to move out of the YMCA down in Naple, Fl and get his own place.

TDT was nice enough to pass along a photo of his new digs.

repete--The Carrol QB is the real deal and is a better overall athlete than Elliot.  Sorry to say, but true.  The Carrol QB deserves to be on the first team for that all-american voting.  Also, pretty sure that my karma will take a hit for saying someone is better than Elliot.  So go ahead almight smiters, smite one for the gipper.  That's all I got.

Cobbernation --
Yeah, I can see a decent debate between Emmert (sp?) and Elliott. It's hard to knock what Carroll does in the NAIA year after year -- although that wouldn't happen if the NWC (or MIAC) was still there. I just haven't seen him.

My question was more about the East Stroudsburg guy ... but I saw later he did win the Harlon Hill. Still, one edge that Elliott had was success at two levels -- even if one was short-lived. My guess is voters just saw the d3 award winner and the d2 award winner and gave the d2 kid the edge.

Wouldn't mind watching NAIA final between Carroll vs. St. Francis, which beat UWEC pretty badly, but I don't think it's on, at least not out East where the NAIA is a non-factor.

A Cobber note: I was in a seminar here in DC last week and we had to go around the room introducing ourselves and finishing with a person tidbit. This guy gets up and does his intro, then comes his tidbit: he says he holds the record at a ``small Minnesota school'' for most batters beaned. Someone asked what school and turned out he was a Cobber.

When my turn came, I managed to get a little dig about C-M vs. SJU -- with typical Johnnie smuggness, of course. ;) Turns out the last guy he hit, which stands as the school record, was a Johnnie.

Nice guy. It was good to talk a little MIAC stuff during breaks.  I offered to e-mail the video clip of the Gearman catch, but he declined ...

Cobbernation,

No worries....Elliott was the 1st team AP Little All-American QB last season ahead of Emmert so that's fine if they reverse rolls this season. That's all I got.

Was that the same guy that was a finalist for the Hamline job last year?

UWW started off well, but it's starting to look like MUC is getting the upperhand here.

8 titles in 13 years that is an amazing stat.

If MAC is ever going to climb back into MIAC football, Caruso is the guy.  An academic all-American at Ithaca College, he's coached at private school settings in the East and public ones in the Midwest.  Midwest kids will make up the backbone of his team, but I think there will be a significant effort to supplement his numbers with kids from across the country.  Very surprised that MAC found a guy of his quality, and even more surprised they hired him so quickly, giving him an opportunity to bring in a relavtively decent freshmen class.  A vacancy at Carleton opens the window of opportunity a smidgen wider, too.

I think UWW represented the Johnnies well today  I was happy to root for them vs MUC

UWW looked good in the first and part of the 4th quarters.  MUC dominated the rest, though.  I was very impressed with how UWW came back late in the game when down by 3 scores.

Coach Caruso is a great guy, and this is a great hire for the Scots.  I got to know him through being a camper at football camps during his NDSU days. A really motivated and high energy guy. I think that MAC may finally be moving in the right direction. Does he have any thought of bringing Irv back on staff?? :D

Enjoyable afternoon today watching the swan song of D3 football with FrankRickard and watching the swan song of Mongo at O'Hara's Pub. How fitting that he poured me the last beer of his illustrious bartending career as the last points of D3 football were being scored. If only it were a Hamm's...

Congratulations to Mount Union.
