Funniest part of the Stagg Bowl telecast: the camera on the Mount Union fans showing the 3 bare-chested fans with their chests painted purple and the initials M-U-C on their respective chests. But the 2 guys on the end had traded places.

repete--The Carrol QB is the real deal and is a better overall athlete than Elliot.  Sorry to say, but true.  The Carrol QB deserves to be on the first team for that all-american voting.  Also, pretty sure that my karma will take a hit for saying someone is better than Elliot.  So go ahead almight smiters, smite one for the gipper.  That's all I got.

Cobbernation,

No worries....Elliott was the 1st team AP Little All-American QB last season ahead of Emmert so that's fine if they reverse rolls this season. That's all I got.

WC11--That's cool that he was 1st team in 2004, but it's in the past and it's not a big deal anymore since it was a year ago.  But Emmert does have his 4th straight NAIA National Title as of today with a 27-10 victory.  Cheers to that.  Basically a no-brainer for who the better QB is.  Elliot is good, but a team just can't be one-dimensional and win a Nat'l title.  GO SAINTS!  4 in a row.  Dynasty??  Perhaps......I think so.  That's all I got.

QuoteMU lost in the Championship game in '03 then couldn't get there in '04. Sounds like someone's lost a step in that respect, but this season's still pending.

Evidently......NOT.   ;)

WOW, did Dumo rack up the awards this year or what. Great for a D-lineman. He deserves every bit of it, great kid, great player. ;D ;D

Cobbernation,

It's funny that you have to reach to the NAIA to find a player to use to try to slight Elliott.  Emmert is a great player, an NAIA legend, so unlike you, I'm not going to spend time trying to diminish a great player's accomplishments.

Yeah Elliot(t) is "good"...."good" enough to be named d3.com 2005 offensive player of the year, then named d3 player of the year by the Melberger Award, and then d3's most outstanding player by the Gagliardi Trophy.   I guess that's decent.

You are right that a one-dimensional may not win championships but you can at least beat Concordia.  Phone that in.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Wildcat......who cares? his season and career are over. Pick up the pieces and move on with your life already.

He lost his job, trransfered, had 2 good years at LC....you carry on like he was the Missing  Manning bro or something, jeez

His season is over; I seriously doubt his career is over.  He WILL be playing on Sundays!

Brett Elliott is a very talented quarterback, but I doubt that he will be playing on Sundays. I love to see D3 athletes make it in the pros, but the odds are against them. There are D1 athletes that don't even get a shot. Brett will have a certain amount of media hype (to go along with his Gagliardi award) that might help get him noticed, but it will be an uphill battle for him. While I wish him the best, I just don't think it will happen.

It was fun serving Frank and Fins during the Stagg Bowl on saturday.   Apparently having Frank drink all day makes him forget where is car is parked in downtown St. Cloud at 11pm.

And somehow Frank and I became members of the Eagles Club saturday night.

WW--heard you're coming up to St. Cloud in Jan.  If you play your cards right, you just might become a member of the EC as well.
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job

WC11--I am not trying to diminish Elliot's accomplishments whatsoever.  I am just trying to prove that he is not GOD and their are better football players in the nation that are better than him.  Also I agree with bennie that the odds are against him to be playing on Sundays though and if he does then that is great for him.  Other than that the season is over and look forward to the next.  Phone that it.  THat's all I got.

Look to the 2006 NFL draft for an objective, well developed, unemotional assessment (with lots of money at stake) of Elliott's talents for NFL football by people who do such assessing for a living.

Frank,
With 1868 posts and zero karma you must either be the poster boy for the mushy middle or amazing adept at ticking off exactly as many people as you please. My money's on the later ... thanks for your perspective and balance.
