Since TC has been duly chastened, I'll just say that there are some Johnnie alums living in this "Hell Hole" that is Cheeseland - including me. I just think of it as East Minnesota. I look out and see a lovely slice of the good Ole' US of A, and thank God I'm on the right side of the grass. Especially today, when it feels like FOOTBALL.

Just a quick reminder to post your Picks before kickoff tomorrow.    We are still waiting on the defending champ SJU56321, Finsleft, repete, mr. ypsi, retired old rat, and anyone else from any part of the country that wants to join in.

Bench, are you still out in DC?

Nope. Went to law school at UND and working in Grand Forks. As much as like hockey and 40 below weather, I am however, saving up to move back to our nation's capitol.

Welcome to the SJU love board...while most of them are level headed and fun, there are a handful that can't handle it if your statement doesn't include items like "I have a shrine to John Gagliardi in my basement"   ;)

I have my Gagliardi shrine at my desk at work. That way I get to spend a lot of time admiring it! ;D ;)

Since I'm retired, my Gagliardi shrine is right here by my Mac including the bobblehead, his first book and the Sagatagans (do they still have those?) on his first 4 years as JOHNNIE coach.  ;)

I have a Happy Labor Day present for Summander but I can't get the url past the censorship software :o in order to post a link. ;D  So, Sum - if you'll buy and wear the shirt to one of our games this season, I'll pay for it. ;)

You can find it at (you'll have to fill in the blanks): http://www.lanef--kingkiffin.com/  8-)

(Hey, Sum, at least they won last night.)

Thanks Tmert, awfully nice of you to think of your little buddy up here in Northern Minny! I will pass on that offer though.

Looks like the defense is going to be a little bit suspect this year. Maybe #13 would consider transfering?? This not tackling in practice works at SJU but must not at USC!

You actually stayed up to watch it?  :o ??? ::)  I'm two time zones closer to Honolulu and I went to sleep in the 2nd quarter (heard it lasted 4 hours!)  You must be worth nuthin' today. :D

Are you kidding....that's way past my bedtime. I fell asleep in the 1st quarter. Just read about it through the various online sources.

Safe travels for all the Johnnie faithful this weekend!!

Prediction time?

I'm taking the Johnnies this weekend but inside AO's spread: 31 - 3.  Yes, on even shorter odds I'm picking that John lets the new placekicker get a three pointer.  I'm also predicting that the defence allows Northwestern a good second drive that ends in a FG but it's all Hammer Time after that.

EDIT:  And I would like to thank the Academy, particularly those from the hell hole, that helped in the 1000k achievement.

Visit tinyurl.com.  They'll scramble up the url for you and let you get past the Godless fun Nazi's that run your IT department.  You still won't be able to visit the site, but you will  be able to pass on a working link.

Thanks for the invite, and although I finished a shocking 7th out of 19 last year (since I know less-than-nothing about most MIAC teams), I've decided to make a laughing-stock of myself on just 4 Pickems this year (including the MIAA which I run, despite being a CCIW guy - but a Michigander).

Ha, St. Thomas can't even get fans to show up to their home games.  What makes you think that anyone'd venture to the hell hole that is Wisconsin to watch that team?

Wow, who pissed in your Wheaties? All I tried to do was offer some helpful information. Relax a bit. If you don't care for Wisconsin or St. Thomas, I don't really care - but I also didn't do anything to you.
Thanks gbpuckfan, if it wasn't for You my family & several other Tommie fans that are in De Pere Wisconsin to watch the Tommie's play the Green Knights wouldn't have gotten tickets. I ordered a dozen tickets online at you're suggestion for the immediate family. This Tommie Fan Thanks You!!!

Lllllleeeets get ready to ruuuuuuuuumblllleeee!

I'm just sitting down for the first game of Hawthorn's post season campaign.  They are over in Fremantle today taking on the Dockers.  Gracious supporter that I am, you're probably surprised that I might trash talk Freo a bit, but not today.  If you recall the Johnnie Aussie Rules team that took the national collegiate championship a couple years ago, the you may also remember that the Yanks on that squad were introduced to footy on a study abroad in Western Australia.  They played in the feeder teams to Fremantle and a few Aussies from that league came over to St John's.  So no slagging the Dockers today, but I do hope they are smashed.

EDIT: Sigh.  What a lousy game.  Depressing effort.  Let's go Johnnies - I need the pick me up.
