No predictions from this Ole fan, but I'm looking forward to making the 7 hr. drive from Iowa City for my first look at this year's edition of the Oles.

Do you have room in your car for a Johnnie fan in a skirt? He'll need your back seat for his books. He'll pretend he's studying the whole way but have to tell you a joke every 5 minutes.

There ya go KR. I found you a ride.

johnnyadmit

You give him 5 minutes between jokes??   Although, if he's anything like my med student girlfriend, give him a stethoscope and some note cards and he'll keep himself entertained all day

A new stomp has been created.  When the backup qb leads the team to a monkey stomp, it is called a benchwarmer monkey stomp.

And then I realized there was a whole board devoted to the West's Playoff Bracket, with a ton more insight than I had.  Sorry, guys.  Back to Hamm's, 80's wrasslin', and Monkey Stomps.

Still, if SJU, CON, and STO all finish 9-1, it looks like the MIAC could have a ligitimate claim on both of the at-large spots.

Well, first off, Olaf is 7-0 (5-0), SJU is 8-0 (6-0)... and you bolded St Olaf. Hmm.

Secondly, if Olaf beats SJU and loses to Concordia (which would have to be the case for a three-way 9-1 finish) Olaf would win the auto bid as the last team to lose a game from the set (so told to me by three different MIAC school people and a couple of conference people on the sidelines). Now if that did happen (which I admit is a shot in the dark) the MIAC will likely get two selections, but three isn't impossible -- but quite unlikely.

That's all. No grammatical issues from me but yeah... I'm gonna shut up and go to bed now. It's way past my bedtime.

Was curious how you guys view the Liberty League... Do we have any respect from other conferences or what???
Anyone notice how none of the kids from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were even a little bit cool... Where was the athlete who pile drives wonka into the chocolate river??? Coulda done sooo much more with that "classic"

OAS: What is the scoop with the Czech situation? No support from the administration,as previously noted? Any word if he will stay in coaching or a career change? Too bad for Mac. he's seems like a good guy.

Thoughts from Saturday-

That Johnnie D-Line is amazing.  Jason Good very much is.  Damien definitely plays like a man posessed.  The other two D-lineman are just as talented but don't have names that have cool lines that can be said about them.  The safeties play very deep in that cover two, and the corners do a good job of taking the outside of the field away.   Concerns for the Johnnies if they run into a team that can slow down the pass rush-   the middle of the field was open for us.  The safeties being so deep left an area in the middle of the field that we completed a couple of balls to.  If Olaf or any of the teams in the playoffs can slow down (not stop, as I don't think anyone can STOP that front four) the Johnnie pass rush, that may be an area of concern.  Second area of concern: The Johnnie D needs to talk more trash or be people that are easier to hate.  I mean when you are getting "Monkey Stomped" the last thing you want to hear is Damien congratulating you on a good play.  Be a jerk Damien, then I'll have reason to hate you!  kidding.  I was very impressed with the demeanor of the players.

Clemens was awesome Saturday.  8000ish if I heard right.  I agree with WAHOO though, even with the huge numbers, the open air lets the sound disipate pretty well, and on field communication is not terribly difficult.  The one area that causes problems is at the end right near the student section in the endzone.  Their mock cadences are loud and can cause some hearing annoyances, but that is only really from the 5 in.

As far as the personal foul penalties, we had two.  One the player believe that the ball was loose and was going for the ball.  after the whistle yes, but still in the spirit of the game.  The second one, especially after watching it on film, was not a late hit in any way.  Both the Auggie player, and the Johnnie player were in the air, and the Johnnie player landed first.  Then the Auggie player landed on the Johnnie.  It really was NOT a late hit.  I think that coach Haege has done an excellent job of teaching the game the right way.

As to the numbers comment.  From my perspective I wanted to talk to Kofoed after the game and congratulate him.  However, there were too many 11's on the field, and eventually I lost hope at finding Waldo, and resorted to just trying to find my way out of the Red maze.

Good game Johnnies, and good luck the rest of the way!

Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Naked Nott- Do you mean football or putting up crazy numbers on Post Patterns? ;)

We learned a lot about trash talk from RT,EngiNegro,LewDogg11 et al..... before the play off game with them in 2003...we were mostly polite & considerate of other people's point of view :D

LAB,
Thanks for the analysis! From the sound of the radio broadcast, you never had much time to do anything, but still managed to make some plays and never backed down. That alone gets my respect.

OAS- sad to hear about Czech.  Was this about pressure from the AD or was this his own desire?

Any chance of getting Brann to Snelling Ave?
