I am planning on being in Beaver Stadium Sat. when Joe Pa gets his 400th win.

Well, those two events may not happen at the same time.  I suspect Northwestern won't be a pushover for JoePa, and it's Ohio State after that.  He might have to wait to get his 400th in Landover MD on 11/20 when they play IU.

Dusty,

I cannot tell a lie.  What a monumental blunder on my part.  For many reasons.  How as I to know, 8 years ago, that I would have this opportunity.  I did not attend the Linfield game in 2002.  With funds short and optimism rampant I was saving my money for my second trip to Salem, VA.  Unfortunately I had to wait a year.  I am still waiting to make my 3rd trip to Salem.

Your recollection of flying and riding buses with me could be one of many awesome trips we've made together in our support of the finest d3 football program in the nation.

Perhaps I could personally deliver a note from John to Joe Pa on Saturday.

Alliance? Whitewater? Perhaps Arden Hills for a Northwestern tilt?
+k, though to be exact, the stadium is in Roseville.

Where are the Ole fans this week (heck, this year)?

Ole Trivia: King Olaf II of Norway, also known as Olaf Haraldson, was a son of Earl Harald Grenske. During his lifetime he was also called Olaf the Fat.

Olefan from Texas was a hoot.  Remember him?  Just the right mix of delusion tempered with impotent hostility for the frequently unintentionally funny post.

I was out doing a little shopping tonight.  The store had a full rack of number 84 Vikings jerseys at a very large discount.

Oles are excluded from this board due to their inability to read or write.

31-13 is a "modest" victory?  Really?  Modest?

Yes absolutely.  Against Carleton.  This years Johnnie team is simply not very good Oz.  Too many turnovers, too many missed assignments, & too many bad decisions.  Good Johnnie squads blow teams out.  Especially the Carletons, Gustavus, Hamlines of the world.  Stop drinking Clark's Kool-Aid....

I am planning on being in Beaver Stadium Sat. when Joe Pa gets his 400th win.  I'm flying out Friday to visit my daughter Kelly who is in her first year of law school at Penn State.  She has no interest in football so this will give her 3 hours to study. ;)  She is, however, planning to partake in the tail gating.  I'll provide some tail gating photos.

ROR;  You may be the only person on the planet to witness two coaches winning their 400th game.

If I remember, 400 for coach Gagliardi came vs Linfield in 2002 and I believe both of us flew into Portland that day and rode the bus to McMinnville.

I can't absolutely vouch you were there, but if you were, it should be reported.

Developing......

Dusty, I was there.  That was a great day and a great game.
Go Johnnies!!!

Simply not very good?  As Inigo Montoya says, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Average score over the last 5 years not including last weekend?  27 - 11.4

Average turnovers?  I dunno; I didn't go into Burger King.

Average score over the games played in Northfield in the last 10 years not including this?  30.75 - 6

So, if the argument is that this Johnnie squad is performing more poorly than the 2003 champions (and the years following as those players moved on) then you've got a pretty good point.  Still, it's pretty stiff to argue that "not very good" means at a level less than national champs.

There is a difference between "ducking" someone and just plain not having any desire to talk with someone.

A tradition unrivaled...
