ROR, isn't that just a bit drastic?  All I want to do is edit a post.

As opposed to having a post surgically removed?  :o

Hmmm...I have that button on my posts. Maybe you just have to have enough negative karma.  An option provided to me in hopes that I will think twice about what I post! ;) Too bad it's not working!!! ;D

News item for you johnnie fans. Actually I heard it last week but didn't think about posting it until I was having a Hamm's out in the garage tonight, which got me thinking about tailgating, which got me thinking about SJU football, which got me thinking about SJU athletics which reminded me that our alma mater will likely be looking for a new AD since our friend Timo is slated to be named the new Headmaster at SJP.
And I do mean "our friend" because I do think he had something to do with the renta cops cutting us slack last season.

I just hope Laker doesn't take a sudden interest in athletics :o

Should be announced formally after the Board fo Regents meets Friday to confirm the search committee's recommendation.
Maybe Zygi can help us pick a new AD by Monday.

If there is any chance that SJU looks outside the university for a new AD, I would hope OAS would be considered for the position.

He pretty much runs the Riverfront Corp. in St. Paul, so he has the administrative background. Public relations would be a no-brainer, given all the work he does for this website.
Since he was at the inaugural Stiftungsfestivities in 2001 and has been in regular attendance ever since, I trust the rent-a-cops would be history and we could start serving Hamm's via kegs. OAS is married to a former track star, Ms. 1500, so he does have an appreciation for sports other than football. From an ecumenical standpoint, he would be ideal since his father is an employee of Bethel. OAS, given the connections to Royaland, would be so thankful to be associated with SJU, an institution head and shoulders over the school in Arden Hills. He could tell potential recruits on campus that if it comes down to St. John's and Bethel or any other school in the nation, SJU wins out. This would especially be the case if the other school under consideration is MAC. Chances are coach Gagliardi will still be at St. John's after the tenure of the next five football coaches with the Scots. Finally, OAS has an excellent relationship with TDT. As all of us know, the support of TDT in our life's pursuits is so important and a key compenent to success. Just ask the Webmaster! OAS has my vote.

I'm down with the "OAS for AD" campaign!

Gags is playing stand-up again at the Rimington award.  From Shooter today:
") As usual, St. John's football coach John Gagliardi was a hit as keynote speaker at the Rimington Trophy banquet Saturday in Lincoln, Neb. Gopher Greg Eslinger received the award, emblematic of college football's top center.

"We just came here from Minnesota," Gagliardi told the audience. "You know where that is — it's where the forecast is always clear and still. The snow's clear up to your butt, and it's still coming down."

Before coming to the banquet, a committee member asked Gagliardi if he would like a tuxedo ordered for him. Gagliardi asked what percentage of the audience would be wearing tuxedos.

Told about 60 percent, he said, "Well, that means 40 percent of us won't.""

And further:

College football's all-time winningest coach, John Gagliardi of St. John's, asked whether he would have been interested in the Vikings' coaching job: "I couldn't afford the cut in pay."

Yes, I have a St Johns football tee shirt in my closet right next to my Macalester shirt.

I keep forgetting to log in and then I can modify posts.

Despite your eloquent nominating speech JR, I'm not sure I can support OAS for AD. I mean, did he show up once last year at SJU? Did he pick SJU to win even once? Was he there when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
I think OAS would have to buy a lot of Hamm's to curry the favor of the d3 PP selection committee.

Another thought...do you think the OAS-imposed road trip dress code of Birkes and berets would fit the SJU image?

Not according to Bluto Blutarski.

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

I would have to think that OAS' propensity for picking any team but St. Johns, except the time he was the only colunist to pick them to beat Mount Union, would preclude him from being in the running for the AD position.  I think a more appropriate pick would be the Hamm's Bear.

fins-  You hitting up the Bernicks Holiday party this Saturday?  Preparty at the Eagles.
Heaven isn't too far away,
Closer to it every day

It's 50 posts, pretty sure, not 100. We've had trouble with newbies posting and then cutting and running, so we want to make sure you have a minimal amount of seniority before giving you those tools.
