Tommiegun-

Benedictine lost to North Park from the CCIW. North Park was 2-7 this year and hasn't won a CCIW game since 2001. Wheaton was ahead of North Park 52-0 in the first half. If Benedictine scores I will be very surprised. And St Thomas should score as much as their coach can consider fair. With only a 52 man roster it's hard to let off the gas pedal. I take the over on the 47 pt spread. I love Benedictine's coach, John Cooper, but this game will be ugly early.

Good luck to UST and Bethel on Saturday. Here's to hoping both win and make a strong statement for the MIAC!

Ditto to both UST and BU!!

Wondering if those that have played for either UST or BU in the past, and when you've made the playoffs, what kind of video or tape do you get from your opponent??  Is there a NCAA system that allows both teams to get game film to prep for?  Is there enough info to put together a good game plan in such a short amount of time?
I'm a very nervous grandfather hoping that my grandson's season will continue for at least another week!!

Scrubby- All playoff teams exchange their last 3 games on selection Sunday. No worries, everyone gets a fair shot!

Ahhh... Good old Rat Hall. I also remember drilling in there for ROTC. Also remember the guys Yelling "Pass her up! Pass her up!" as the girls walked by. It happened more than once too.

A little love for the NSIC. Look for Winona State to go to the Championship Game - at least.

Maybe the Tommies can match SJU's 75-2 victory over Coe from 1991. Two. It'd almost have been less humiliating if they'd been shut out.

Will be interesting to see how Benedictine plays against UST-their QB is the son of a former Bear, Robin Earl, who played tight end anf full back for the Bears in the late 70's and early 80's. The son played for the largest class of school in Illinois-8A. The WRs played at 7A schools-so these are not small school players. But, I am sure the score won't be that close.

I think this might be a bit of an advantage for Bethel.

We get their Luther, Simpson and most importantly Central film.

They get our Concordia, Hamline and Augsburg games. Hamline was just a total blowout.  Augsburg was such torrid weather you really couldn't get a sense for what either team could do well. Concordia runs their funky offense, which means we're running things differently defensively than we do all year.

Bottom line, in the playoffs you're playing teams you're less familiar with and you've got drastically less film. In game and halftime adjustments become paramount to success. Can't wait to see how this one plays out!

Whew.  Qwest finally got around to fixing the down phone line in my backyard, so my DSL is up and running again.  Are either the UST or BU games on the radio?

Yeah, I saw that, but I was hoping to get some things done outside and I don't want to bring my laptop out with me.

Wow! BU scores first, 3-0.  However, it looks like UST could run for 700 yards if they wanted to today.
