fins - Did Frank pass along the bad news about tomorrow night? I heard you were crushed by missing out on the chance to take in a girls basketball game  ;)
Haven't heard from Frank but obviously you know I heard from some gossiping Grandma in Florida. (Let the Smite-a-rama begin) Although it would have been my sincere privilege to watch my 1st Y chromosonal roundball game with you, Frank and the rest of the entourage, I may just have to settle for the traditional X chromosonal post(or pre)-game beer drinking activity.
Where's the gathering?

And just what is the deal? Are they giving away a free set of tires to the 1st 1,000 fans?

I've been busy putting in 45 hours a week trying to spread the good word of Miller Beer (and the other 100 or so beers we have).  I've been at Howie's numerous times this week and thought about getting some law advice next door., but just ran out of time.

I have a free drink ticket from the Eagles Club burning a hole in my pocket.  Plus, I haven't actually drank there since I became a member.  Perhaps there for pregame, postgame, or both even?

What a coincidence. I was in my office numerous times this week and thought about getting some beer advice next door at Howie's. Hmmm, maybe I'll go there now...
Let's maintain cellular telephonic communications tomorrow.

To keep the MIAC board moving again, this was in Sid's column yesterday, I believe:

Former Gustavus and Vikings wide receiver Ryan Hoag is training in Florida to prepare for playing unattached in NFL Europe.

Looks like SJU has 2 more transfers to add to the mix next year.

I didn't know that you could play unattached in NFL Europe.  Does anyone know anything about that?  Do you just have a try-out or what?  (don't worry, I won't be trying out myself)

Yeah, NFL Europe has a training camp in Florida (Orlando, I think) for a few weeks before the NFL-E teams draft. NFL teams allocate players under their sphere of influence to the league but free agents are permitted to participate as well. Unfortunately, however, the road is occasionally tough for a free agent, because the NFL uses this as a development league and the coaches there feel it's in their best interest to play the allocated players.

Each team is required to have some native Europeans on the roster (or possibly it's just non-Americans). Usually they are kickers or linemen.

Last year was not a banner season for D-III in NFL Europe, we only had a couple players over there and they did not get much PT. The year before was great -- we had probably five guysm some of whom started on a regular basis. Mount Union's Chris Kern was one of them and parlayed that into a few games with the Detroit Lions and actual NFL regular-season playing time.

Is there any way we can push back TDT's return a little bit - say a few months? I'm getting a little nervous his first post might be a little harsh towards me...

fins - Missed a quality game on Saturday. My sister almost had a triple doubs with 17 points, 16 boards and 8 TOs. Oops :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Hey Willy-
I am sorry I missed it. I wanted my 1st ever women's BB game to be memorable and it sounded like that was a hell of a game. Enjoyed reading about Sis's accomplishments in Sunday's Daily Planet. Ended up having company at the fishhouse Sat night that lasted a while. Called FrankR. at 1:30 am on my way into town, but you guys were either passed out or too close to the speakers by that time to take my call.

Anybody here watch that new show on CBS - Love Monkey? On tonight's episode while playing basketball one of the characters was wearing a Gustavus Adolphus T-shirt. I immediately thought, 'Hey DIII school.' Actor's name is Christopher Wiehl. Anybody know if there is a connection to the school?
