Kilted - I just got a message saying my post was denied. Regardless, I WILL be heard. Here's what I tried to post.

***********************

Sorry to post again, but this has bothered me all day. It even made me do a little digging in my own files for what I was looking for.

Having attended a national seminar for sports editors, I received the following advice from Jim Jenks of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

"I expect my columnists to incite readers. Whether it's through strong opinion, humor, tear jerks or just good writing, I want to hear that reader reaction."

Great so far, right Greg? Well, there's more.

"A columnist should be a great reporter and not just
write "from the seat of his/her pants."

Whoops! Looks like you broke a cardinal rule after all.

If you can't make it all the way to Salem, try Collegeville in Minnesota. As a college rival, I hate most of the guys there, but the tailgating it amazing and the field/setting is, arguably, the best you'll find at any level. Who knows, maybe it'd even turn into a column saying how great D3 football is :)

Regardless, hopefully you'll think twice in the future before pounding out an uninformed column just to make deadline.

Seriously, that's being nice for me. I can't wait until TDT gets back so I can take my frustration out on him instead of this slimy CC runner...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

WW, they denied that?  What a bunch of hosers.

+K to the MIAC, don't take my previous post (from the LL) as a sign of competition, Gro's just glad that the LL is still alive and kickin' in the offseason.

Best Wishes
Gro, your Bro from the B.R.A. (big red alliance)

Kilted Rat

Gro,

Wish I could send it back, but I think I still got 10 more hours until I can re-karmalize the LL board.

See you at 4:30 PM eastern.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

As a Celtics fan, let me tell you that R. Davis cannot play defense.  He is a great scorer but has lost numerous games on his own due to poor defense in the stretch.  The Celtics needed to pull the trigger on something and they need another shooter.  I hope Wally can do it

M. Blount has a 25% chance of being a top 15 Center in the NBA and a 75% chance of having one good game every 7 games.

kubiack78

WTF am I TDT's stand in until he returns???

My Karma has taken -7 hit in the last day

or is it because im a WIAC alum.... >:(

Kilted Rat

JU,

In regards to Wally's defense, I'll give you a little analogy:

Greg Chalfin (Emorywheel article writer) is to D3 football as Wally is to Defense.

They know little if anything about it, what they do know came in college, and both would rather that it didn't exist.

QuoteWell TDT says that PC told him "on or about" Feb. 1st.

Perhaps a more apropos reentry would be April 1st.

FYI
Gro done did it again
2 times
Thanks Gro.
Looking at your links to the calendar made me realize that we (or I, at least) missed the birthdays of our mates J Esq and carbo. Happy belated birthdays and a Hamm's toast will be made to each of you tonight in Fins fishhouse on the rapidly melting Pearl Lake ice.

Maroon&Gold

Well I am jumping on the topic a little late (nothing new for me) but today I read the article from the Emory Wheel.  WOW!!

Needless to say I sent a response, and hopefully it will get posted...but seriously what an absolute tool that guy is.

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

johnnie_esq

Gro, we anxiously await the field trip! You never cease to amaze me.

Thanks, fins-- I'll hoist a Hamm's in absentia along with you guys.

According to John O'Grady, UWRF coach, a phone agreement has SJU playing the Falcons Sept. 2 in Collegeville. A contract has not been sent to RF yet, however. That may mean that EC, now scheduled to play in Collegeville on Sept. 2, would switch to Sept. 9, or RF would, in order to make the schedule work. EC has contacted RF about doing that.

I hear that bars in the cities area can get, and do have Hamm's on tap.  I'm trying to work my magic and get it up here...
Heaven isn't too far away,
Closer to it every day

Was anyone else having connectivity problems to these boards earlier today? Is Pat trying to phase me out to decrease the problems upon TDT's return? Whatever the case, I don't like it  >:(

Duff - That is, verbatim, what I tried to post. If they are going to post an article for all to see, they better be able to handle the backlash to an ignorant column.

If I put something stupid in print, I expect people to tell me about it. It's amazing how much the need to avoid adverse reaction drives me to write decent pieces. Apparently Gaylord hasn't been through that stage yet in his writing career.
