And man, you are right, those MD uni's are just terrible! If Oregon's used their multiple uni's to get recruits, MD's ugly attempt at imitation might actually cost them recruits! I just texted a buddy in DC who loves his terps to rip him over this. But he's also an O's fan, so he's used to weird, ugly and disappointing things from the teams he follows.  ;D

Aakre named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week for his 283 yard and five touchdown performance. Aakre rushed 10 times for 139 yards and three scores. 10-of-14 passing for 144 and 2 TD's.

Congratulations to Aakre and some great blocks on this run................

D3football.com names Aakre Run "Play of the Week"

http://d3football.com/awards/playoftheweek/2011/week1

The blocks are really the highlight in my opinion. #62 Bubba Friedlund's great pull to spring him (very athletic play for a big man), the receivers blocking hard down field and then the icing when #22 Marquardt levels the guy at the 5 to clear Aakre for the endzone. The last one was great on a lot of levels. Great hustle. Great burst to get in front of Aakre. Great selflessness in his celebration. I love to see WR's, QB's and RB's who celebrate hard when somebody else scores. You expect that from the O-line. They live to serve for their teammates glory, but it's great to see a RB's excitement over a teammates score.

And another thing. They all celebrate together! None of this 'look at me' junk. This is why I love DIII! The team is bigger than the individual.

A lot of those things you mention are what drew me to the play as well.

Also, Bethel offensive line just named to the Team of the Week, along with Concordia's Robin Wisner.

Hi all - I'm at Carthage fan..made the trek up to Northfield for our game against Carleton. I was just wondering if there were any Carleton backers here..or anyone that might have an update on the Carleton player who got injured this weekend. Looked pretty rough - ambulance came and they were very careful in handling him..never good to see, your team or your opponents. I just thought I'd come to your board and see if anyone knew anything. Good luck on all of your respective seasons!

Didn't get a chance to watch the game this weekend, so I didn't see it.  Do you know the number of the injured player?  I can try to get an update.

Be sure and let us know what you discover.  ;D

I didn't catch his number...they got his jersey & shoulder pads off of him pretty quickly. Thanks for any investigative work - I hope he's doing okay!

Haha. Masterful editing with my comment on that one! You figured out what I was really going for. I can tell you one thing -- I'm far more entertained on your board than ours! Way more active! And I enjoyed the attendance argument...I mean discussion. I think we drew pretty well up to Carleton considering it's about 5 and a half hours from school!

Red.Men1 - I am a Johnnie grad/fan living in Lake Geneva. I get the Kenosha rag, so I get to keep up with Carthage sports. Sitting where I do, between Kenosha and Whitewater, it would be nice if Carthage gave me another option to watch a game when UWW is away. Is the QB who came in, Dj*&^%$ch, the BB Coach's son, and the brother of the departed BB star? Good luck the rest of the season. Just don't get too optimistic. Beating Carleton is nothing to get excited about. Although the come back showed something, after a dismal First half. :P

Does anybody know if electrical hookups are available at the SJU tailgate?  I've got about 4-5 pounds of smoked pulled pork that I'd like to bring to Collegeville on Saturday.  I'll need to bring a roaster or crock-pot to warm it up and thus need a source of electricity.

I don't think it is the uniforms that bring in the Duck recruits. It's the state of the art lockerooms! 8-)

Sounds like he had a slight neck injury, but he's doing fine.

How much Tommy interest is there in the RF game Saturday? Will Tommy fans follow their team as well as the Johnnies did for two years? I hope so. We have a new coach who's making believers out of the locals.

Here's a bet:  if any Tommy fan is willing to give the Falcons 3-1 odds, I'll bet a six pack of Rush River beer on the Falcons. You get a six pack for a UST win, I get three if RF wins. I will deliver at the end of the game, as will the loser. But it has to be Rush River, brewed right here in RF. This way, it's a win/win cuz RR is a great brew. The winner will be a convert, or, I will get a nice supply. The beer can be bought at the Kwik Trip west of the parking lot. It's almost 9 bucks a six pack.
Whaddya think? How confident are you, Tommy fans? The first to take the challenge will be the winner or loser.

Please answer on the WIAC board.
