Congrats Duffman, I can't wait to talk to Grandpa Bielat on Monday.  Make sure your dog doesn't eat him.

Forecast in Moorhead tomorrow: 61 degrees, cloudy, and windy (some surprise there). Winds from the SE at 15-25 MPH. Conditions should favor the run, which the Cobbers have brought back to life. I look for the home drought against the Johnnies to finally end. 29-20.

There's been very little "chatter" on this game...what does everyone predict? Was last week just a planetary misalignment over Collegeville?

We have named the little guy Ollie Michael Bielat.  Mom is doing well.  Ollie is jaundiced, but the bilirubin lights are helping.  Thanks for all the well wishes.  Maybe I can get him to listen to his first Johnnie win today!

I've always heard New Holland Dragon's Milk was an effective tool to fight jaundice. At the very least, the dad should 'test' it to make sure it's safe.  ;)

Congrats Duffman & best of luck to the whole family. I am sure he will look good in black & orange, & his name will sound good over the Knight PA system in about 20 years!

Just read about a high school football team that scored 29 points before the opponent ever ran a single offensive play. They received to start the game, scored a TD and then proceeded to kick 4 consecutive onside kicks, recovering the first 3 and scoring each time!

Watch the video in the article to see some of the most creative onside kick formations I've ever seen.

This is the same coach that never has his team punt the ball on fourth down.

I cringe a little bit when I hear about D3 being the home of the real "student-athlete", or the last truly amateurs playing only for the love of the game.  Weren't we just having a debate about a hike in ticket prices?  The Tommies and Johnnies both have radio contracts and their game drew 16,000 people last year.  This isn't amateur athletics.  If you've ever seen chariots of fire, the administrator of the college thought it was wrong for Abrahams to hire a personal track coach.

How about the Wayzata football website...look at that bling!  Sure looks "professional" to me.  I actually get a bit of a giggle at a high school football championship ring.  At home games they have a Culver's stand and a number of other "sponsors" selling goodies.  They also have a guy that Tweets play by play.  If the website and success can help bring in a running back from Coon Rapids....My intention isn't to rip Wayzata as much as it is to note that high school and small college sports at times "mirror" the higher levels.

At Hopkins High our AD just added an electronic message board at about the 15 yard line on the visitor's side.  Hopkins spectators are bombarded all game long w/ ads from McNally Smith College of Music and other for profit educational institutions.  I'm not a big fan of it but it helps the Hopkins Athletic Department gets a few dollars in the coffers.

Wasn't AO's younger cousin a stand-out player for Wayzata Football a couple years back?  ::)

What college is he currently playing "professional" football at ??
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!
