I remember watching Hazuga play in a few preseason games with the Vikes.  If memory serves me correctly, he played at St. Cloud State with Nick Bruns, a d-lineman from SJU who also played in the SJU/UW-Stout game.

Where is Touchdown Tommy?!?

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

That's right, DuffMan. Hazuga transferred to Stout from SCSU.

The other thing I remember is your defensive end, Huzinga (sp?).  Man, what a horse.  Seemed to have a bit of an attitude.

I'll say. He was in our backfield a lot. He really had it out for Tom L. I remember an option that Tom ran and Hazuga smoked him long after the pitch for a 15 yard penalty. Whoops!

I just talked to the person that was the D-Coordinator for the Devils at that time, and he thinks it was MLB Jamie Spielman who performed that smoke. Which was a Spielman move all the way.

Update on Hazuga: After his stint with the Vikes he played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in Europe. He now works in real estate and has gotten back into Stout and is a GA for the football team and will coach the D-Line.

BDB, I can't vouch for the specific play, but I do know that Hazuga got a PF during that game.

If memory serves me, that game against Stout in round 1 was the toughest game of the playoffs until Mt. Union in the Stagg.

ps.  Hazuga had nothing on Duffman, except that Duff did not get an PFs.   :)

You guys are probably right. The D-Coordinator couldn't remember Hazuga getting one, but we all remember many times when Spielman did over the years. Do you guys remember him? He threw himself at everything and everybody.
That old field you guys were at is now the soccer field. Williams Stadium opened in 2001 mid-season and is beautiful. We call it "The Big Willy."  :D

BDB, you may be right on that play, but I know Hazuga got a PF at some point during the game.  I have seen the new Stout field, too.  It's nice, minus the old-school turf.

ROR, no PFs for me.  A few times I happened to be a little quicker than the center, but that's not my fault.  They should snap the ball sooner ::)

DuffMan,

Checkout the link above and look to the right where you see soccer goals. Doesn't look like where you played, does it.

The stands were taken down and sold to somebody.

New field turf that everybody is using now is to be installed in 2 years.

BDB,

Very nice.  Hopefully will have a chance to check it out sometime soon.  Not a bad drive from Woodbury.

Only one complaint.  No visitor side stands.  That's just not right.

Yeah, I know. The women got a new softball field at the same time. Got in the way.

If that picture went another 3 blocks to the east you would see me waving at you.  :)

I just spoke the the Naples Police Department.  An APB has been issued for TDT.

There are not a lot of bridges or alley ways in Naples, so the search should not take long.

It looks totally different.  Much better without snow, too!  Glad to hear you're getting the good turf.  That stuff is awesome to play on.  I'm glad SJU got it.

Stout has a nice field, though the structure looks a bit like SCSU's new place-- I'd much rather be D3 in Menominee than a Husky in Clown-town.

But news from the NCAA wire: SJU leads D3 attendance averaging 7,925 fans per game.  Ithaca and Linfield were nos. 2-3 respectively, averaging a little under 5,000 fans per game.  And Concordia came in number 4 at a little over 4,000 fans per game, giving the MIAC the D3 attendance crown for the first time ever!

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Reading that link lead me to the following about the planned Petters Pavillion...
http://www.sctimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060201/NEWS01/101310043/1001

KR, you'll love it.

Fins, You could make this a lot easier.

Donate the Pace Arrow to the Abbey.  Provides guests a place to stay and in inclement weather they just drive the damn thing right up to the door.  Don't need a tunnel.  Of course you would reserve home football game dates for the next 25 years.

The Petters money could then be used to build a hockey facility on campus.

(I hope my cousin Dan, OSB doesn't read this board.  On second thought, he might agree with me.)

Why don't they just build a dome over the whole campus and create an artificial sun to always shine on their destruction of God's own beauty.

I am not happy about this at all.

I currently cannot decide what makes me angrier; Jason Laker still being employed by SJU or the lust for money the monastics have that results in the concretification of SJU.
