QuoteConstruction of the guesthouse began in September and is expected to be finished by fall. It will have 30 guest rooms and suites, a chapel, a library and dining facilities.

Does the guest house really need a chapel, a library, and dining facilities.  It's going to be right next to the church, across from the library, and pretty darn close to the refectory.  Looks like there will be a new look on campus next fall :-\

Word is TDT filled out final paperwork with Guru today.  He will start with positive karma, but I expect that won't last long.

Watch the following clip! It's the real life equivalent of what's going to happen to TDT's karma when he returns.

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Reading that link lead me to the following about the planned Petters Pavillion...

KR, you'll love it.
Fins, You could make this a lot easier.
Donate the Pace Arrow to the Abbey.  Provides guests a place to stay and in inclement weather they just drive the damn thing right up to the door.  Don't need a tunnel.  Of course you would reserve home football game dates for the next 25 years.
The Petters money could then be used to build a hockey facility on campus.
(I hope my cousin Dan, OSB doesn't read this board.  On second thought, he might agree with me.)
Great idea ROR. I'm ready with the donation and the $250,000 charitable contribution I'll get. (check the blue book). We'll call it the Fins Facility. There's a dining area (chips and koolaid), I'll put some books in there so there's your library, and the chapel can be in the back (some kneeling has been known to occur). Naturally, I'd have a rider in the deal for use on Saturdays during football season.
Done deal.

Busdriver is still listed in the board directory. I checked it this a.m., clicked to his last post and gave him a karma increase from 23 to 24. Don't think that will carry over when he registers as TDT.

Well, well, well...the return of TDT is upon us. After my last post, I checked the member director and, lo and behold, Busdriver disappeared. My Sherlock Holmes-like skills led me to check TouchdownTommy and what to my wondering eyes did appear? HE"S BAAAAACK!
I can now lay claim to the 1st TDT smite. Let the games begin.

TDT, welcome back. I'll send you some karmalove after 18 hours. Really. Promise.

Kilted Rat

In case anyone wanted to get a jump on things, here is a link to a TDT post that you may smite or applaud as you see fit.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Ha, KR, I was about to do the same thing.  Too bad Guru didn't take away his post total so he can't retaliate!

Wow, down to 18 from 23 in about an hour... this could get ugly fast.

Does he know that he's re-activated? Do we want him to know?

I pondered the post total re-set you mentioned and elected not to.

Right behind my office is a lake that is stocked with trout. Plently of people ice fishing. Local incident reported by the Chaska Police Department recently: "Officer Swing and Sgt. Duzan responded to the banks of Court House Lake to search for a male who was possibly intoxicated. They located the man sleeping on the ground near the water. He was using a trout fish as a pillow. The officers woke the man and he appeared extremely intoxicated and confused. A breath test indicated a .288 AC. He was placed in a detox facility, where hopefully he washed his hair." I checked with Chaska P.D. and verified that the guy was NOT TDT.

The Big Willy? I resemble that remark. In more ways than one, if you know what I'm sayin  8)

Besides Williams Stadium being called "The Big Willy" the indoor athletic complex is Johnson Fieldhouse.

So in the fall we go to "The Big Willy" and in the winter to "The Johnson."  :D

DuffMan

JR, a trout for a pillow?  That doesn't sound so comfortable to me.  I'd take an eelpout anyday!

DuffMan, tell me if this is true..

At the Stout basketball game last night I was talking to a guy "in the know" about the SJU-Stout playoff game.
When I brought the subject up, he got all excited and said "it was that damn Linnemann! In the second half he figured out our defensive signals from the sideline and they just whooped us in the second half."

Does that sound right to you?
