OZ-- not only block off time, but Id suggest trying to read them in order of publication. While each one stands fine on its own, there are frequent mentions/allusions to incidents in previous books that are more clear (and thus more enjoyable) with being familar with them. That said, I started wtih "Memorial Day", was captivated like Hazzbeen,  and promptly  bought the whole series, and only later found out Vince is a Tommie (who played pre-Roney).

Hazz & others-- which is your favorite Flynn book?  mine is "American Assassin". I didn't set it down till I was finished.

Ok so how old is Vince Flynn?  What position did he play and when  did he play for the tommies?  Would be kind of cool to know you got to smack around a famous author on the football field.  I have read every one of his books and love them.

He graduated in 1988. You'll have to ask Maniac if he played all four years at St. Thomas; other Tommie posters will only have details of the program's history from 2010-11.
He played during my Southern Years, when I was enjoying the charm and grace known as Dixie (I spent 5 yrs liivng in FL, NC & VA.) SInce Al Gore hadnt invented the internet back then, I was only able to get scores of games in the paper (or about as much coverage as the MIAC gets in the two local fishwraps now)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

2115 Summit

I don't think the TOMMIES start slow this game like they did against the Saints and Monmouth.  My predicted score for tomorrow is 38-7.  24-14 at half.

On a different note,  all the Beer talk the last couple days made me thisty,...... If you like ale Beers..... I'm enjoying a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.... and it is great.

Hope to see a good turnout for tomorrows game.  It should be a wonderful day! Drive safe everyone!

Go Tommies!

2115 Summit

I meant final score 38-14.  I apologize for the error everyone! ;)

Well that would be a big no on playing against him then since the only time I played against the Tommies was the 90' playoffs

I remember that game!

The wife and I had dinner at Pittsburgh Blue last night.  Aside from having the best steak of my life (bone-in ribeye), I had a Cygnus X-1 Porter by Flat Earth Brewing.  It was awesome!

I think Vince played hockey, not football. But I could be mistaken

Maple Grove location Duff?
We've eaten there on several occasions and, not having a lineman's body, I find the portion size challenging but I do my best to part of the "clean plate club" ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

As much as it pains me...U$T wins this one comfortably....at least by 10.
Scratch that....this one isn't even that close....it's a 2 or 3 touchdown win or more for the Tommie$

Yes, the steaks are amazing there, but so is the prime rib. Strangely, the thing I look forward to on each visit is the chopped salad, which seems to prep me for the succulent beef. I will definitely have to try the Cyngus with tonight's victory celebration meal.

Where'd you come up with that number?  ;D

dlip answered this question earlier in the week; poop shoot ;)

In all honestly dlip wishes both teams luck today. He is hoping for a great game! Let's hope there are no injuries and the players on both teams relish this experience playing in the quarterfinals!

Let's go Cardinals!

Well said dlip. I can't wait for this game, and I hope that both teams play well and the best team wins. Anyone making it out to the game, enjoy it. Should be a fun game to watch.

Appears that there's a video weblink for the SJF and UST fans that can't make it.

Yeah, Maple Grove.  It's a little rich for my blood, but we had a gift card from my local Toyota dealer :)

It's one thing to read it, it's another to see it, but SJF is huge...and getting good penetration. Tough sledding today.
