"St. John's is a champion and class program - however both U$T and Bethel showed they weren't quite ready to take the next step."

Agreed... Bethel has not reached the top tier/championship, but it is a class program. Check out the following and listen to the interview with Greg Peterson, selected as DIII Assistant Coach of the Year.

Middlerelief is an idiot troll and not reflective of the rest of the UWW and WIAC fans...who've been nothing but class.

Yes how about UWW who are nothing but class - minute to go . . . up 20 . .. game no longer in doubt and they . .. wait for it . . . take a knee. . . hmmmmm

anything the UST money machine can learn?

Sounds like an SJF fan with a new handle. I think the Rochester.rr.com gives it away.

But you just showed how the MIAC is different from the conferences outside of the OAC and the WIAC.  Name another conference that has had two different teams make the semis since UW-W started their run (Hint: you can't). Go back to 2003 and it's three teams, with other conferences still maxing out at one.

Conference: The ASC

And then there's Wesley who showed they are closing the gap, but they no longer belong to a conference so we'll laet that one slide. . .

The ASC is a great conference, but they have only had one team (UMHB) go to the semis in that time range.

If you think that sounds absurd (and it is) then just go back and look at all the posts that the Money Nation from UST put up during the playoffs - its just that you're now on the losing end of them.

How many times do I have to point out to someone that I am not a UST fan.  Look at the picture and figure it out and then come back with some facts rather than some generic statement about how UST hurt your feelings.

Congratulations to the Tommies on a great season.  Who knows, maybe today was the first of a classic series and a rivalry can form. Both teams seem to play a similar style.  Very hard nosed, disciplined football.  It was fun to watch. I wish the best to all of the Tommie seniors.  You accomplished a ton in your careers and played a crucial role in whatever future success the Tommies experience.

Thanks BP! Fun reading your analysis and good luck against MUC.

Now you're backtracking. .. but but but . . The ASC has MHB, the OAC has MUC - and that's about it. Are they great conferences or a doormat of a conference with one great team in it??  who knows - at D3 it is tough to call a conference due to the regionality of the schedule for most schools  - typically we can only pull very limited samples every December . . .and only morons would draw conclusions from that. . . Thus I part ways and point out yet again, the comments being made by UST nation and the occasion bitter Bethel fan during the NCAAs.

Never head of middle relief nor do we claim him as a UWW fan. If he is then he needs to learn some humility and act like he has been there before.  My compliments to the UST fans at the game today.  The ones I met where very nice.  Very nice contingent at the game who did a great job supporting their team.  Till next year UST.

Thanks UST. It was a fun week leading up to the game. Great turnout by Tommie fans today. I hope you all have a great off season.  I know the Hawks will give it their all next week, win or lose.  I'm confident they will do the West proud !

How am I backtracking?  I'm saying that there are other good conferences out there, but none of the others have had multiple teams with the level of late season success that the MIAC has had in recent years.  I then backed my argument with facts, something you seem either unwilling or unable to do.

I'm now done on this subject, because I don't want to take anything away from Whitewater's outstanding performance today.  The defense, especially the secondary, played an unbelievable game.  Loved the plan for taking away Waldvogel and making the other receivers step up and the team discipline was amazing, one of the best defensive team performances I have ever seen.

Congrats on a very solid season UST. No shame in going down at the Perk, you're certainly not the first team to do so.

Thought UST's D played well. No way anyone completely shuts Coppage down, but to "hold" a back of his ability to 110 yds isn't too bad.

Whitewater coaches called a great game on both sides of the ball. Their PAP and bootleg's gave UST some problems, especially down in the redzone. And their redzone D was perfect. They gave up some drives, but never really gave UST a sniff of the endzone.

I'd give the game ball to the UWW front 7. They made plays all day long. Tracy seemed like he was under constant pressure and rarely had time to go through his full progression. Great combination of speed, discipline and physicality.

And Blanchard made some incredibly gutsy throws with pressure in his face. Several times he had a Tommie running down his throat and made a great pass to his tight end or fullback in the flat.

Again, great season UST. Represented the MIAC well.

I'm actually looking forward to another UWW v. Mount Union Stagg. I'd have loved some fresh faces, but these teams are so well coached and execute at such a high level that it just about guarantees a great championship. And how can you not love a rubber match...

I think with it being the first time for UST in the semi's, the result doesn't surprise me.  The fact that it was that UWW juggernaut makes it even less of a surprise.

OH GREAT....Mount gets to play THOSE GUYS again.   ::)  Dean Wermer.....I really HATE those guys!

UST is a class act from top to bottom.  The UST defense was very good and #54 was all over the field, playing hurt at the end of the game and still making plays.
For what it's worth, I thought UWW's game plan today was one of the best I've ever seen and the players executed to near perfection.  This sort of game doesn't happen very often.
Well done UST and congratulations on a great season.

Coach Peterson made a point to reach out to my son after the 2010 game to congratulate him on his play and that of his teammates.  He clearly understands what college football is supposed to be about - and what D3 football is about.  Good for him.
