Agreed, retagent.  That there are a couple hundred people voting to either rig the brackets or come up with a new rule is mind blowing.  But then I guess there are those who don't feel that they should have to earn something.

I voted "Rig" because there was not another option.  That said I don't think "Rig" is the right word.  I think it would be worthwhile to consider alternating home field advantage for the semifinals in someway.  I'm not sure how it would work but it might be nice to have UWW or MU on the road at least once.

Rocori QB Nate Meyer was talked about here a few weeks ago. He verbally committed to South Dakota State.

This is the type of kid I could see transferring back to an MIAC school.

Maybe there should be a 3rd place game.   :o

I watched a fair amount of the Mount Union / Wesley game.  From what I watched Wesley was better than a 7 seed.  They gave MU all they could handle.  That said this might not be one of the best Purple Raider teams...I we'll see Friday night.

Woohoo!  I just checked the TV guide and ESPN2 will be carrying the game live down here in Australia as well.  Cool.  Next year: the Johnnies.

EDIT: Even cooler is that I was able to remotely set my Tivo equivalent service in Oz to record the game so that I don't have to rush back from Saturday morning golf to catch the beginning of the game at 11am.  I'm pretty excited about the live DIII, but it's a bit much to ask me to miss out on the 10am burger and beers.

UW-W has played the semi-final game on the road in 2 of the past three seasons before this year.

It's the end of the year and all the MIAC teams are out, so here it comes (via some guy who has done a pretty good, if unofficial, job of this):

Top Ten AFL Goals of 2011

Top Ten AFL Marks of 2011

(Some really spectacular marks this year)

I would say an attempt at, "rigging," came last year when, despite being the defending champ and going undefeated, we were given the #2 seed in the #4 region!  We were sent on the road for game #3 and the semi's.  Luckily, we were able to make the selection committee look foolish but great teams win on any field they are asked to play on.

There's some pretty good arguments in there for getting rid of pass interference in American football.

I would be very careful about mistaking ignorance/stupidity as a conscious effort to "rig" the system.

Rigging may have been to strong a word but I did put it in parenthesis's.   ;)  You really think that last years ranking were done because of, "ignorance/stupidity?   Really?  I will give you the #2 seed but ranking the North #4 the weakest region with both UWW and NCC in it?  Please.......there isn't a stupid pill big enough to explain that one away.  Don't mean to rehash all of this because they clearly made up for it this year but just pointing out in response to faunch's wanting to see one of the purple powers play a road game once in awhile, that the brackets were set up, as recently as last season, to insure that who ever won the north went on the road and chances were pretty good that would be UWW.

To me, rigging the system would put both teams on the same side of the bracket.
