wrestling is far from irrelevant

What does wrestling have to do with the MIAC?
MIAC Champions: 1924, 1992

... or the thrust of my jab on the Johnnies that UST is currently in first place in all 4 of the major team sports in the conference (baseball, football, basketball, hockey).

There are still at least 4 MIAC schools that field wrestling teams, so, I guess it is somewhat MIAC-related.  Aside from that, there isn't much MIAC football to discus, and I despise hockey, and basketball is not much better.

A tradition unrivaled...

Big tree fall hard.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Anybody hear the rumor that Gopher football is changing uniform designs once again?  If they wear that Nike Pro Combat look crap I'm done w/ them!  As much as I want to see a winning program I don't want them to look like a freak show.

faunch, I think you and I are in the minority on this one. The Gophs are going to catch Pro Combat/Under Armour fever just like everyone else. They already got a whiff of the Kool-Aid with all of the changes in the Brewster "Era."

As long as we don't see any trash like this roaming out on the field at The Bank next year I think I'll be ok:

That should be on an episode of "What Not To Wear"

Despise Hockey? What too many different skills displayed? Too fast? Too physical? It is, by far, the best in person spectator sport in the world.

...Too Canadian  ;)

The only argument that I can really understand is that the puck can be very difficult to see for some fans.

I agree.  The only in person spectator sport I have seen that is better than Aussie Rules.  Sevens Rugby is pretty damn good as well.  And darts.

Do away with the promotion of fights.  It adds nothing to the game.  It's just trashy.  If a player in any other sport started swinging punches, he/she would be kicked out of the game, yet it seems to be encouraged in hockey, even though it has nothing to do with the objective of the game.  I just think it's stupid.  If the players want to fight rather than play hockey, maybe they should look into boxing or MMA, where fighting is the objective.

I know very little about hockey yet it's physical and fast enough that even I can watch a game and enjoy it.
