Interesting angle from the Cobbers and coach Horan regarding signing day:

And a little from Frank Raj:

Signing day is the single most irritating thing in college football.
It is like several thousand LeBron James "Decisions" happening all over the country.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Wow, that was the first sweep of the Toms since the 1993-94 season. Way to go Johnnies!
Sing us a song, you're the piano man

Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

not to nitpick but SJU won both regular season match-ups that season. However, UST won the meeting in the MIAC Playoffs (technically avoiding being swept) and went on the appear in the Final Four in Buffalo, NY.

The last time SJU won all head to head hoops meetings with UST was 1986-87, when they won both regular season meetings (and the two didnt meet in postseason).

Those two seasons and now this year are the only times SJU won both regular season meetings in the past 27 years.

Congrats to SJU for outplaying UST in both games.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

no, Im not. I wish you had to completely retract it  :)  ;D ;) :P But SJU outplayed UST, utilized it height advantage, and played phenomenal defense. It was a great game and a most excellent atmosphere. I'd put it down as one of the top 10 classic Tommie/Johnnie hoops battles I've seen (and I've seen "a few" of these)

I would say the Johnnies outplayed and out-coached the Toms last night.  It was a very exciting game to watch.  The atmosphere was great.  Pretty good contingent of Johnnie supporters in attendance.  Most I've seen at St. Thomas in a number of years.

I think many in the crowd were wondering what John Nance had to do to be called for a foul.  It was truly ridiculous.  Nothing was called on him until the last 4 minutes or so of the game when it might have been to the Tom's advantage.

We walked through the new Anderson Student Center.  I think that is what it is called.  Unbelievable.  Feels like you're at the Mall of America.  U$T should have Edina and Wayzata all to themselves now.

Had a short chat with Tommy Hannon, injured St. Thomas senior center.  Bad luck for him having his senior season taken away.  Good kid.  Has a great perspective on the relative importance of his injury.

Good to see Touchdown Tommie, Lbean and a large number of '76-'79 graduates at the game.

Hoping for a playoff rematch.

Rich -- sweeping two conference games is the common usage here. The date was from UST's own news release. :)

Ok, a regular season sweep is a sweep. What's the complete season trifecta? Monkeysweep?  Zambonied?  Frickin' glorious?
