Awesome Movie Gro

Filmed in my hometown. My 7th grade football coach was an extra on the bus ride into the prison.

Milwaukee's best is to Milwaukee like Foster's is to Australia. They both claim to represent the region, but no one from that region really drinks them.
Not true...Milwaukee's Best is a staple in Milwaukee and the rest of Wisconsin.  Probably one of the most heavily consumed beverages on most campuses (only because of the cost- makes a great house party choice)!

UGGGHHH!
You'd have to pay me PLUS tell me that was the last beer on planet earth to get me to drink it.
See, I am a Hamm's snob.

The 2006 Johnnie schedule is an outrage!   :o

The Jays have to play AT Concordia and AT St. Thomas again!!! It must be a Johnnie fixing the MIAC schedule  ::)

Or, more likely, until MAC returns, the schedule is unbalanced from year to year and needs to compensate this way.

Come back Scots!

I'd imagine if a Johnnie was fixing that schedule, all the togher games would be at home  :)

The odds are Saint Mary's will be fielding an MIAC football team before Mac. Word out of Winona is they plan to announce the return of football this spring, hire a head coach by Jan '07, give him till fall of 08 to hire a staff and beat the recruiting trail and start play-- as an indy-- in fall 08. They hope to be able to rejoin the MIAC by Fall 2010.

I know Mac has hired a dynamic new coach, but SMU's plan sounds more solid than Mac's "we'll be back when we're able to be" (sorry OAS....not ragging on Mac, just the admin that left the program dangling in the wind... the new admin should come out with a timeline for returning).

If both Mac & SMU rejoin the MIAC, UST will be able to schedule 10 games  ;D
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

A staple in Wisconsin?

My partner and I hold 5 liquor licenses in the state, and Milwaukee's Best is far from a good seller, let alone a staple.

It has it's low budget clientle. College students and senior citizens.

As I said earlier, the top 5 selling beer brands are all diet beers.

#1 seller is Miller Lite.

Touchdown Tommy

BDB,

Perhaps true.  However TDT would be willing to bet that the state of Wisconsin is one of the only if not THE only state in the union with Miller Lite at #1 (for obvious hometown reasons).  From my experience in the beer industry, Anheuser-Busch kicks ass and takes names.  Case in point, Miller does NOT dominate the states surrounding Wisconsin which to me would seem natural.  Perhaps 56321 could report on IL and the Chicagoland area, but i have found it is dominated by Bud.  Same for MN.  KR could you report your findings for your great states of IA and OH?

When TDT delivered beer during his college days for a Miller Distributor in the Twin Cities he found out real fast who was the cream of the crop.  Bud would be unloading 2 entire trucks at a liquor store each week and we'd drop maybe a pallet on them of various girly bevies.  This wasn't a one time deal, but happened week after week.  Perhaps Mr. Bernick's Frank R could weigh in on this discussion.

I guess the last paragraph of this article explains why you were recently in Waxahachie, Texas?

TDT,  You are right about the strength of Bud products nationwide. I was speaking only about Wisconsin and answering the guy about Milwaukee's Best.

I know it frustrates the hell out of the Bud wholesalers here that they have to deal with the Miller people as equals. They are used to getting all the prime door and floor positions everywhere else.

Oh please Tommies anything but a change.  You are a guaranteed Win these days.  I hope Roney coaches for decades.

Duffman,

I was talking to finsleft yesterday and it was decided that you are in charge of delivering 2 kegs to the Pace Arrow for each Stiftungsfestivities.  Seeing that Frank R has run into problems securing the lucky Hamms beer in the 16 gallon keg, I am assuming you could run down to Crystal liquors and score a couple each week.

Oh look only 974 smites to go til you clowns reach your goal...

You guys can take take your Milwaukee's Best Light and Miller Lite, as for me I will take the high road and enjoy another   HIGH LIFE...there's nothing better.

You won't be getting those kegs from me unless TDT sees fit to finance such an endeavor.  Maybe I'll enquire next time if they carry Hamm's in keg form.

I'm not a fan of most of A. Busch's products.  Miller wins in my book, although MGD is terrible, maybe it's because I am not 30 years old yet?  Macro-brews in general leave something to be desired unless your goal is to drink as many as you can.

High Life?  Pure swill.  I'd rather drink water.  If you're going to go that route, go with Keystone.

A tradition unrivaled...

The red beer states (Bud) baffle me as much as the red political states.

sorry the LL is slow today. Just want to add that milwaukee's best ice (p.s. it HAD to be ice, none of that regular crap) was more like old reliable in upstate NY... but when there was money to throw around usually it was labatt's or molson... Bud vs. Miller never really came into play untill the bars... then it's Miller all the way.

sure do miss canadian beer living in TN. they got hamms here?

Maroon&Gold

Gro-  you should see if you can find any Grain Belt Premium in Tennessee.  Makes mouths happy.

Oh how I pine for the days of fall when the chatter was all about nothing but football and beer. Now there's no football, so the talk is just about beer. 8 more months...geez I'm getting thirsty.
