I heard speculation that the Packers might get rid of Sherman, go after Pete Carroll hard, in hopes of landing Leinert.

Exciting news from MAC....

St. Paul (AP)  Macalester College announced today that they have hired current Minnesota Vixens Head Coach Wayne Erickson to lead the Scots next season.  Erickson, who has had a very successful career with the Vixen, is a surprise choice beating out Adam Johnson, Jim Gagliardi, and Bill Maas.

When asked about his expectations for the next football season, Erickson replied, " Well, I'm used to coaching She-Men with the Vixen.  I am not questioning the masculinity of the Scots, but look at my roster with the Vixens.  They can "Man Up" with any of the guys on the current MAC roster."

When asked if his statements are a challenge for next years team, Erickson stated, "Hell, our best team was 3 years ago, and from what I hear they had this kid with one arm on the team.  If that isnt motivation in an of itself, I don't know what it!!"

...you would only be questioning his ability if you have never really watched him play.

Did he play last year?  Because I watched the SJU/UmYaYa game and I don't remember anyone special.  I guess we'll see Saturday.  My guess is he couldn't hang on to Dumo's (or any of the Johnnie d-linemen's) jock strap(s).

Willy Wonka

Duffy - From what my Olaf source had to say about him, Bechdol transferred in last spring from a D2 school to be closer to his woman, who chose to be an Ole. He drives a sweet ride, too. I've seen him play twice now and not been blown away by any means. However, I was also a pansy receiver and said the same thing about Dumo, so I'm probably not the best judge :)

If we are going to talk disruptive forces along the DL, especially on the interior, I think you have to throw Brent Staples into the mix from GAC (1995-99 I believe). I've heard some crazy stories about how good he was, but never got to see him play.

I am not officially out yet, Frank. I am not officially in yet either though. I should know by late tonight what my deal is. However, my costume will be arriving tonight and it should be classy.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

DuffMan

Esq, thanks, oh Master of the Stats.  I didn't really care, though ::)

By the way, if we're talking of forces on the d-line, I'm partial to myself ;D

Wonka, is your costume a skirt?  Because it sounds like you already have it on!

I just had an Ole grad and former Ole player hand me a $5.00 bill outside my office.  He said he was giving the Johnnies 7 points.
He's got a lot of faith in the old "um ya ya!"

Coming from a guy who's seen one game this year ;D  I've only seen tape of that line, so it is hard to say.  One thing they did better was celebrate.  Wagner once showed me a tape of the SJU/UST game where he had 6.5 sacks--man, he had the air guitar jammin' and six-shooters blazing!

OAS, I might take that as an insult from anyone but you.
