The next RPI playa hata reunion is scheduled for April in Chattanooga... although there could also be a smaller version in north cackalacka on st. patty's weekend. We'll have to coordinate a hamm's sampling for that time.

Funny how certain beers enjoy a following in certain areas. Pabst Blue Ribbon has a huge underground following in the Pacific Northwest - especially in Portland, OR. Apparently it is mostly forgotten throughout the country. But you'll find it on tap all over Oregon and several places around Boise and Seattle/Tacoma. Portland is the only major market in which it has gained market share over the past 2-3 years.

Don't get me wrong, I'm proud when I earn a blue ribbon...but I don't tend to flaunt it much after its been 100+ years.  ;D

One of the bars down here in Eugene has PBR on tap for a quarter! Everytime I hear the ad I think that if it was Hamm's I would go down and raise a glass in honor of you guys, but since it is PBR, I will pass!  :D  You will just have to settle for a Jägermeister toast to the Johnnies! ;D

I'd go for a glass of PBR for a quarter. I think I could make a night of that. In fact almost any beer for a quarter sounds pretty good to me. Other than the aforementioned Milwaukees Best.

Fins-does the La have that "drink your father's beer" promotion, with the PBR, often? That was the beer I chose that November night.

sjusection105

Holy crap Fins you are walkin in high cotton son. :o

TDT nice to see you back as yourself. Kinda weird not knowing what to call you on your treks to the northland lst season ???

Nothing new here, just checking in.

Sounds as if Johnnie Red has had some bad excitement in Carver County in weeks past. :-\
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Maniac--

Who says MAC has no plans to return to the MIAC in football before 2010?

With Rosenberg, Feezell and Caruso in place I don't see it taking more than four years to return to the MIAC--if you asked Caruso, I'd say maybe even less.

Someone who has cable, please tell me the Duke UNC game wasn't as exciting as past years so I don't regret studying for my damn test tomorrow instead of going to a friend's house to watch it.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Hello all-

It's been a while since I have last posted, but I had to get in on the Beer (PBR) topic.  I hate to tell you all, but I am over in Germany studying right now, and well, the beer here is unbelievably good.  I mean, with the Beer Purity law or like 1518, all of the beer here is perfect by law!  And, as most people here are afraid to drink water out of the tap (which is stupid because the water quality of their tap water is better than most in the world, including the US) and therefore only have bottled water to drink (which is incredibly expensive) Beer becomes the cheapest option when dining out.  In fact it is cheaper for me when grabbing lunch to drink a .5 liter bottle of beer, than a .4 liter bottle of Coke.  Life is GREAT!  Anyway, I'm wishing you all well.  The season will be here before we know it, and then the true fun can begin again.  I'm sure one of our "backers" will talk some more garbage and get everyone fired up, and so, I appologize for it now!   It won't come from me!  Best wishes all, and keep posting good things to read - I have been staying up on everything, and reading every day when here.  Take care.

Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Sjusection105, it has been rather stressful here in Carver County lately. Just finished with the grand jury proceeding last Friday for the three Amsterdam bound lads who wanted to kill the parents of one of them to fund the trip and coffee/cannabis shop. Just think, 20 years old and facing the possibility of life in prison with no parole. I know I would be excited. :o

Lone Auggie Backer, sounds like you are having a great semester in Germany. My son, who is a Badger, was in Prague this fall for a semester. He loved it. He got to take weekend trips to Vienna, Budapest, Berlin and Krakow. He also spent a week in Rome visiting his cousin, who is a Bennie and was spending her fall semester in Rome and Greece. On his flight home from Prague he went through Amsterdam and got to meet Larry Bird in the airport.

Heading to Denver tomorrow for some training on combating senior financial exploitation. No doubt there will be plenty of Coors on tap. :D

DuffMan

LAB, is your eligibility up, or will we be seeing you play again next year?

Anyone catch the Fox 9 story about college binge drinking?  They cut to a close-up of a Hamm's tap!  I guess you have to go to the bars by the U to find Hamm's on tap.

BDB

We've got to figure out a way to assess karma points on idiot drivers.

A little number on their license plate that you could +/- them for the mostly stupid crap they pull.

Might as well just have the car makers leave off the turn signals, the flippin' idiots don't use them anyway.

And how about, when you're making a left turn, don't frickin' swerve way to the right in order to turn left. You are driving a sedan, not a Massey-Ferguson pulling a manure spreader.

And you know those pesky red signs that say Stop on them? Can you freaking read?

Sorry, just a BDB morning rant.
