Johnnie Red

stanc, I highly recommend St. John's for your son. It was one of the best experiences in my life from an academic and athletic standpoint (I ran track and cross-country for the Johnnies). I majored in government (now called political science) and went on to law school. The teachers were excellent. The campus is one of the nicest in the country: four lakes, 2400 acres of woods and trails and a football environment that is second to none in the nation in Division III.

Add to this the loyalty of alums to St. John's. Johnnies are well known for being proud of being a Johnnie for life. I have never seen anything like it.

I would strongly suggest that you get a copy of The Sweet Season by Austin Murphy, a writer with Sports Illustrated. Austin took a sabbatical from SI in the fall of 1999 and moved with his wife and two kids to Collegeville from California to experience first hand life at St. John's and what Johnnie football and coach John Gagliardi are all about. Excellent read.

Email me if you have any other questions.

stanc--

I recommend Macalester.

Have him apply to Bethel as a safety school.

But not SJU--that college Stancs!

Interesting that November 18 is already on the Johnnies schedule.  One game at a time fellas.  Don't put the cart before the horse...or the football on the ground in Kofoed's case.

Kofoed will be another summer STRONGER and another summer SMARTER.....I doubt if the ball will be on the turf as much next fall.

Regardless of how many times he put the ball on the ground last season, he still lead SJU to an 11-1 record.  Not too shabby.  November 18th is a given.

A tradition unrivaled...

Pretty much guaranteeing mommy and daddy paid for that one. I doubt a construction supervisor can afford a "million dollar condo" let alone repairs for the hurricane damage.

You'd think that this woman would be better served using her "energy" to try to lose some of the 300 lbs that caused the problem!
