Some subjects for you and others to research for off-season discussions:
Beer:it's not just for breakfast anymore.  True.  Not really a topic for discussion.   ;D
Ice fishing techniques. Do tip-ups take the sport out of ice fishing or simply allow more time for beer?  They can be fun.  Ice fishing still sucks, though.
DeWalt vs. Milwaukee cordless power-tools:advantages and disadvantages to lithium battery packs  I've got a Milwaukee Li-Ion drill that kicks some serious butt.  I drove a lot of 6" screws on one battery last weekend!
Toro vs Simplicity: who really makes the best 27" walk behind snow blower?  That's a big thrower.  I have been quite happy with my Ariens.  Toro makes a good unit.  My only experience with Simplicity is my dad's '70s model.  That thing is a tank and has been a solid performer forever.  Honda undoubtedly takes top honors, but they are priced out of reach of most folks!

I seem to recall that SJU beat UST twice in B-Ball last year. Looking for the positives...

yeah, after losing 10 in a row to UST. Even with those wins, SJU finished in 3-way tie for 5th and barely made playoff field, as UST won its seventh consecutive MIAC title, tying Joe Hutton's Hamline powerhouse for most in a row.  PS- we have EVERYBODY back from last year's title squad.... of course, you could look forward to baseball season.....oh wait, UST has 10 straight titles there and was 3rd in nation in 2012...and returns nearly everyone, too. :)

(just being a smartass... those 2 losses last year still sting)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

How's this for a way to spend a Friday night...watching 9 man football (Nicollet vs. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton) on the web in the backyard in front a fire while drinking a fresh growler of IPA and smoking a Cuban.

Rumor (or Twitter) has it that the Johnnies are sporting their new, red pants today.

Depends on where the growler was from?

When was the last time SJU finished last in the MIAC?
Betting even Hamline is a favorite over SJU.

48-17 losing to Augsburg??????? WTF?????  Houston, we have a problem............SJU has gone from just bad to pathetic.  4 conference losses in a row?

OzJohnnie

Monkey stomped by the Auggies. Unbelievable.

I've got nothing nice to say.  I'll keep all my thoughts to myself at his point as not one of them is helpful to anyone.

St. Thomas gets 12 sacks today, Matt O'Connell runs for 149 yards rushing and I think Brenton Braddock, the freshman running back out of Mahtomedi and Dominic Truoccolo, the freshman full back out of San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius, are emerging as the number one backs.

Well, if SJU isn't gonna use their Johnnie Magic, someone else at least should!

1- Good question

2- It's not that bad is it?!?

Looks like I might have to make a trip to St. Paul next weekend to watch the Bethel tilt. Good wins for both teams today.

Haven't had any of that.  Steel Toe Brewing in St. Louis Park has an excellent IPA as well.  I've emptied several growlers from them.
