For the Concordia Moorhead fans, I feel you should have gotten in. They probably are the snubs of the tournament.

On that note, who is more to blame for not getting into the tournament:

- NCAA Committee?
or
- Players running onto the field to cost them the victory at Bethel?

Unfortunately, my vote is the players. You never want to leave it in the committee's hands, and the question is rendered moot without that untimed down.

I might have to agree with you.

In most years it would have been running on the field, but this year the committee took Bridgewater State with a much lower SOS which itself is inflated from being in the worst region.

If you're going to play the What-If game you also have to wonder if Concordia would have been helped by scheduling a d3 power instead of Jamestown.

I agree, the committee (in this case) is irrelevant without the players running out onto the field.

On a lighter note. Here's the video footage of the Bethel team's reaction upon hearing the announcement that they made it into the playoffs.

I see a bunch of bubbas who could use a free shave and hair-cut ;).  Kids these days  ;D.  Fantastic stuff and almost makes me homesick...almost.
The artist formerly known as Carl Spackler... it's nice to be back!

Adversity doesn't build character; it reveals it.

On the flip side, If those players would have stayed put....Bethel's season would now be over. Bethel got really lucky...but I'm sure that's already been established on these boards after that crazy homecoming game.

Anyways, if Bethel ends up going to Oshkosh the following weekend, I think I'll drive up for that one. Should be fun.

Those two (Concordia) regional losses are a killer in Pool C, even with a good SOS.

Only when compared with fake RRO wins such as Bridgewater State's.  :-\

I'd almost guarantee Bridgewater State gets curb stomped this weekend.  I could not say the same for Concordia if it was in the field.  It is a shame.

tommiegun

1 Curb stomp is the ghetto equivalent of a double monkey stomp.

SUMMIT!!!!!

major news from Cretin & Summit....Channel 45 to air live 4 UST games this winter

to the best of my knowledge, this is the first ever live TV coverage in Minnesota of any MIAC atletic events!
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Didn't MSC or some other now-defunct station carry some UST football and basketball games live 14/15 years ago?

sfury

Yep, there has definitely been other live coverage of MIAC games back in the day. Watched a couple of johnnie-Tommie games for sure, including the 1994 game at St. Thomas. I can remember the replay of Malmberg being out of bounds and the refs blowing the call.

Pat Coleman

Over-the-air coverage is pretty rare. Regional cable is pretty rare these days for basketball as well, but some markets are broadcasting sports on their digital channels, and that is definitely growing.

now that you bring that up sfury, I do seem to remember a couple of games with cbale channel coverage (public access??) long time ago, back in the early 90s, only because I remember earlly tripping over all the cable. Ch45 did a great job with the UST football semifinal game last December and it sounds like this is the outgrowth from that.

It's very easy when all you have to do is take the feed from ESPN. ;)
