A little bird shared w/ me that Kurt Ramler was on the EP sideline tonight.  Mike Grant...next SJU coach, Ramler OC and Recruiting Coordinator.....UST and BU shaking in their boots!

I am amused that with what should be play-off talk, now we (SJU faithful) are jacked up with speculation of who the new coach will be and who he may hire as assistant coaches. My question is would the committee look at Grant as a "transitional coach" who would be around for 3-5 years and have Ramler on staff as the heir apparent? How would this dynamic affect the rest of the staff, especially Fasching who is very open about his desire to succeed John at the helm. Would Haugen call it a career as Defensive Coordinator after 37 years on staff and would Fasching move into that spot within a Grant administraction and would he be satisfied with that position?

One thing is sure and that is the recruiting efforts & results need to be improved dramatically or SJU will be delegated to the middle of the pack in the MIAC

This s all very fascinating and we will all know within about a month.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Can Grant of Eden Prairie replace Gagaliardi of St. John's with one passing yard per game?

"Offensive" minds would like to know.

Developing....

He wouldn't run that offense at SJU.  He runs it at EP because it works at that level.  When Grant was the o-coordinator at SJU in the late 80's he implemented a wide open offense.

Yeah I don't get why anyone would think the exact thing Grant is running now would be what he runs at St. John's, especially considering what Faunch noted of his previous time there. The Gagliardi idea, which I'm guessing Grant subscribes too as well, is there's no one way to play.  (although say he would be just a ground and pound team. Hasn't Bethel shown post-Meidt that's a fairly effective way to play? Again, though, I don't think he would just stick to that).

Double O, I guess you can hold not getting those other MIAC jobs against him, although since the St. Thomas interview he's added six state titles and five since the Concordia one. That helps the resume a little bit. Not to mention, both schools at the time were leaning heavily toward wanting to hire an alum and in fact did. Does he get the job over Roney if he graduated from St. Thomas?

Good luck to the teams today.

Bethel draw first blood against Oshkosh.

Long TD pass to Hallstrom. 7 - 0 still in the 1st.

hazzben

Bethel and Oshkosh trade INT's. Oshkosh set to punt to start 2Q

With last week in mind, I know one quarter doesn't make a whole game. At the same time, BU did better in the FQ than I expected. I hope they keep going!
Better a Has-been than a Never-was. Better a Never-was than a Never-tried-to-be.

The game must be going poorly for UWO if the announcers are whinning about the officials.

Elmhurst up on UST  - who out there is following that game?  Keep us posted.

Big pass, catch and run for Bethel.

Down to the 11 yd line.

a couple runs bring up 3rd and 3 from the 4.  QB keeper comes up a yd short...

4th and 1 from the 2.

TD pass to Hallstrom!! Very similar to their 2pt conversion against Concordia, just going the other direction.

Bethel playing well both sides right now. Keep it going boys!!!

I still have trouble getting used to the QB going to the left and throwing!  He seems to do it so easily. Keep it going!

As much as they do it, Peterson's clearly comfortable doing it.

Pretty funny. Oshkosh announcers yelling at the officials. Then the call goes against Bethel  :o  :-X

BIG INT!!

Wara overthrows Voss in the endzone and Morgan gets the pick!

Secondary is stepping it up today!!
