Oshkosh scores another TD to take a 21-14 lead.

Nice route, throw, catch and run by Wara and Voss.

Another beautiful pass from Wara to Voss. Dropped in it perfectly.

Bethel needs to put together a drive in a bad way. The D needs a breather and we need to answer...

From my perspective, here's the story of the game.
                            C     A   I           yrds       TD
Erik Peterson      15 - 17 - 2    197          2
Nate Wara             6   - 12  -2    42   0
I would argue that Bethel's 20:00 -10:00 advantage in the time of Possession is the story of the game right now.  The less Wara and the UWO offense are on the field, the harder it is for them to score!!! ;D

Great point. . .
Getting, holding onto, and moving the ball is pretty importnat!
Like I said...  UWO with advantage in TOP in 3rd quarter and has translated into turning a 14-7 deficit into a 28-14 advantage.

Bethel had given up just 10 third quarter points in 11 games all season this year.  UWO has scored 21 today!! :o

UST took everything Elmhurst had and escaped with a 24 to 17 victory. Very tough game from a very tough team.

Not a very inspiring win... too many missed tackles and sloppy offense.  But a win is a win; survive and advance.

Bring on the Hoes(bart)!

Can Grant of Eden Prairie replace Gagaliardi of St. John's with one passing yard per game?

"Offensive" minds would like to know.

Developing....

He wouldn't run that offense at SJU.  He runs it at EP because it works at that level.  When Grant was the o-coordinator at SJU in the late 80's he implemented a wide open offense.

Thanks for stating the obvious Faunch.

I would love to see Grant because it's the merger of Bud and John, the two greatest football coaches in Minnesota history. It's only fitting that those two legacies live on. And it's unlikely that Mike Grant will get a shot to lead the Vikings (and why would he take it anyway?) so SJU it is.

Maybe we can take some hope in the way Notre Dame has come back from the dead. Love 'em, or hate 'em, you have to admire what Brian Kelly has done there. It shows that a good coach from outside the family, can come in and instill the necessary elements  back into what was once a legendary program. A good "system" and excellent recruiting is waht will be necessary to bring the Johnnies back to where they should be.

Congrats to Bethel on their season. And thanks to the seniors. You men were part of some very good Bethel teams and continued and built upon the tradition you inherited! As an alumnus, I'm grateful.

Thanks to the coaches for another excellent job. And especially for continuing your commitment to developing and discipling young men in Christ. I love seeing us win games and compete in the postseason, I'm more concerned that we remain faithful to who we are. Thanks for that faithfulness and for remaining steadfast that you can pursue both at the same time.

To the returning players, have a great offseason. You've got tons of talent returning and a great offseason program in front of you. Put in the hard work now and I look forward to even better things in 2013.

SUMMIT!!!!!

well said Hazzbeen.....BU will be tough again in 2013, very tough

Well, some university in Minnesota should go after Gene Chizik, Auburn just cut him loose. Getting stomped by Alabama 49-0 in the Iron Bowl and a 3-9 season will do that. If you think Texas is football crazy, try going to Alabama on a Saturday in the fall football truly is king. 8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

105;

Interesting idea. A DI coach looking to get back to the heart of football; rediscover the passion that first brought him to the game or something. Someone looking for the opportunity to write his own Sweet Season at a school with the demonstrated commitment to do it. From that perspective SJU has a lot to offer some potentially very good talent.

There was a professor in the management department (can't remember his name off hand, just his face) that was a retired senior partner from a management consulting firm he had established. CSB was a nice quiet neck if the woods where he could impart his wisdom away from the pressure and strain of the big time. I'm curious now. I wonder who we will get.

Now that I think about it, wouldn't it be fitting if Gagliardi is proven right one more time?  What if the magic he built works one more time and someone fantastic comes up and says: I want to be a part of this?  Watch a Blake Elliot-like coach walk up and present himself.

We've talked here of the 3000 or so players John made a difference to, well what about the hundreds of coaches?  There are probably a few of them that wished they could have the same life in football he had at SJU. And one of those mystery coaches may have been a giant of the game. And now he can have it.

It almost seems so fitting that I reckon that's the way it has to go.

Retagent, I agree on liking the idea of a former power returning to prominence but I'd rather not bring in a tough-guy coach who wants to change the culture and instill discipline and yada yada and thinks it's a good idea to send a kid up to his death on a windy day just so they can tape practice and get used to playing in the elements.

That said, I hope Notre Dame wins it all. Sick of the SEC.
