Would it be horrible to send my son to daycare wearing a Mount Union Football hat? (my daycare provider's daughter works with the U$T football team)

No it would not be horrible....It would be the right thing to do under the circumstances. At least you would get some use out of the hat! ;)
How goes it my friend?

On the OAC Pick-Em's board the line was set with St. Thomas giving getting 20.5.  So far, all the participants have picked Mount.  I'll be very surprised if the point differential is that large.

I think it will be closer too but I think UST has makes too many mistakes that they won't be able to recover from.  The sophomore QB is good for a turnover or two and an overzealous UST defense will get a couple PF penalties.  Prediction 28-14 MU.

Mike Grant announced the following week or two as new SJU coach (SJU has enough class to wait).

I can speak to the Hotel Roanoke question. If you love classic fancy old hotels it's for you. It's beyond classy. On the down side the parking almost requires you use valet parking. It's an easy drive to the stadium.

Is it worth the money? I feel that you only live once and it's one of America's great old hotels. Am I staying there, nope. Already scratched it off the bucket list

Thanks for the feedback.  I booked through Expedia and we're pretty much locked in...looks like a nice place and you seem to agree.  I've looked up a few restaurants.  Have you been to any of these places:

Very nice old-school place and the nicest in Roanoke, but that's a bit overstated, especially in a state with the Jefferson and the Homestead.

Changed my mind, booked a flight to DC and driving down with a buddy.

I have a VERY cool wife.

Great news! My brother and I could not get on the charter flight- no alums allowed! We have the vehicle rented- leaving 5 am Thursday morning-  this will be a painful drive but well worth it!

Also, not sure what time you will be at the Roanoke- but check Tommiesports.com - there a a couple events listed that you can go to- I think a buffet style dinner with coaches, team, parents and such-

We however will most likely be missing out tho- but plenty of tailgating before is planned- I hear the visitor side there will be a group of Tommies tailgating!

There's only one parking lot -- everyone tailgates in the same one. It's a great time!

Is this wild speculation on your part or did a little red feathered bird fly near & whisper this in your ear?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Going well, Jay!  You're missed at SJU.  Although, I have been quite absent, too.  Young family, hunting, fishing, mediocre teams...I guess life gets in the way sometimes.  Good luck to your Purple Raiders on Friday!!!

After Hamline's hire of Rogosheske, I am pulling that SJU goes out on a limb and hires Ramler.  I won't be disappointed if Grant gets the job, but I would rather the school stay current in what HS students are going to be seeing around the conference.

No whispering...just wild speculation...I do believe a couple of "camps" have been established among former SJU players...Camp Grant and Camp Fashching.  Sounds like we might know the finalists but the end of the week...hope that everyone comes together to support whoever the new coach may be.
