Whining????  You have got to be kidding.

STU doesn't call a timeout earlier, which says "I concede".  LK goes into kneel down.  STU starts submarining at the snap.

Yah...whatever.

There is no whining.......STU gave it their best effort.  Mount won...as expected.

End of story.....

Was that just one player on his own doing that though?  It seemed like the other players weren't doing that stuff.

I was also impressed by the Tommies, especially after getting down early.  They played hard and really impressed me with their Defense.  The Oline got a good push and the RBs ran hard (and didn't waste too much time dancing around).  I was expecting a much less competitive game and was glad to be wrong.  Obviously, Mt. U was the better team yesterday but it was definitely a battle.  Scary to see how many of these guys (for the Tommies) will be back for the next 2 or 3 years!
Go Cats!

Congrats Tommies on the season.

I wonder what happens if Misiewicz catches that pass in the redzone. Looked like he probably would have scored. Who knows, but that would have tied it up. Mounts halftime adjustments still probably carry the day, but it would have made the 4th quarter more interesting.

O'Connell is a tough kid. He took some serious shots and kept coming back for more. The D played well, especially up front. And the secondary did as well against Mount's arial attack as anyone has this year, probably better.

Surprised by the O-Line. They were challenged by Mount's D. No surprise there. But it seemed like James, the lone Sr, was the one who struggled the most. The interior linemen for Mount were a nasty combo of power and quickness. Those holds were a result of guys lunging to stay on blocks. Impressive talent/technique from Mount.

The final 2 minutes puzzled me. Why punt at that point? Seemed like he was conceding. Only to run plays at the end. Strange ending. And did anyone else feel like the exchange between Caruso and Kehres was a little one-sided. LK seemed a little off-put by how it ended.

Anyway, congrats on the run. Hope you don't make another one  ;)

Leaving Roanoke/Salem to head back to DC with a buddy, hungover. Obviously Mt. Union is the best team in the nation this year but I loved the way UST kept battling. Overall the Stagg Bowl was a great experience.

Love the program, love D3 football, can't wait for next season. Congrats to MUC on a great season. Until we meet again...

You must not have run into any Tommies, then!

For being a big, power oriented running team, I was surprised by their lack of success on the ground.    The Mount D is under sized and built to defend the quick spread teams.   Not double tightend power.  So 36 carries for only 78 yards was a shock.

The Mount O gets most of the press, but the defense is the difference maker.

And the end game stuff was curious.   Very Greg Schiano (sp?) like at Tampa Bay early this season.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

props to the tommies fans.  really good showing at the game last night.  also very loud.  excellent effort on both sides, but i am puzzled by the coaching decisions at the end of both halves.  Ball near midfield, about a minute left, and all 3 time outs (i believe) and offense is in no hurry to try and score.  mount calls a time out to force the tommies to run a play and the played called was really baffling, just throw it up and hope, i know it was 4th down but seemed like more urgency on the previous down would have given them a better chance.  punting down 28 - 10 with 3 minutes to go makes no sense if you are still trying to win.  you need 3 scores and cant get them with mount having the ball.  there were some other head scratching plays called that seemed to stop drives that were moving.  the really weird play was the run to the line of scrimmage to run a play and the line cant get set and kills that drive.  tommies has more than a few plays killed by penalties too.  good showing, but i think the tommies missed an opportunity to win the game.

I was watching closely with binoculars- #1  it looked like 2/3 were over zealous   #2 if it bugged the head coach he could have put a stop to it in those UGH time outs

Yea I thought the Mt. Union players handled the pushing and shoving at the end very well.  I assume they get baited into that kind of crap a lot.  I wondered what Caruso and Kehres had to say to each other after the game.  It seemed Caruso had a lot to say.

I finally was able to watch the game this morning on ESPN3.  I was REALLY impressed by the Tommies on both sides of the ball.  I sincerely didn't think that St. Thomas would give Mount Union a challenge, but they proved me wrong!  Well done on a great season and we are all proud of your performance on the field last night.  That showed some real heart and talent!

Any idea if the game will be replayed again?

My wife was pissed off at the kids and unplugged the cable....
