Years ago, the International Falls HS team used to scrimmage Fort Francis (Ont.) every fall. They'd play 11-man when the Yanks had the ball and 12 when the Canucks were on offense. Not the best in game prep, but a fair bit of fun.

Can't speak to gall stones, but I've had my share of the kidney variety. Usually very nasty pain. Had my last attack in downtown DC and had to cab it to George Washington (The Ronald Reagan ER). They were out of rooms but saw I was in so much pain that I got the only open treatment room -- the psych cell (insert Johnnie joke here). Got a lot of strange looks as folks walked by, but ended up getting great care ... plus they found a marble-sized stone that was hidden on the other side and the doc said would probably have cost me a kidney if it had gone undetected much longer.

Oh, and you don't want to think about where the scope goes.

You mean they shove it right up your Tommie?

This has been allowed for at least 10 years, but I think only in the past five or so have border schools taken advantage of it by going to Canada.

Does travelling to New Jersey count as "international" travel?

- If not, it should... :P

We truly are living in the decline of the Age of Reason. I got a cab ride home last night from a guy that believed the US was so powerful because aliens gave George Washington the tip on what to do, the pyramids of Egypt are giant power antennas sending signals to the alien home world, and that the Myans got all their great knowledge from their special relationship with ET. He learned and genuinely believed all this from a DVD set called Ancient Aliens. It only cost $38 and was 7 hours long. Very good value! They even list the dates when things happens. You can't deny the truth!

I fear for my grandchildren. I think we're dropping the ball with our mantle of responsibility to the generations that follow us. Sigh.

Hey Pat Coleman,

Congrats on being recognized for your excellent coverage of all things DIII.

That said, how old are you ,really? According to the blurb about the awards, you have covered DIII sports for 30 years!!!!

You must be grooming and mentoring an understudy. I wonder what the life expectancy of an online sports authority is? More than pro running backs I guess.

Again congratulation and thanks for your dedication.

Pat corrected that on another board - 15 years, not 30. He's about 40, so hopefully he will be running d3.sports for a long, long time! ;D

I'm sure that dealing with TDT just makes it feel like 30 years! 8-)

I truly believe we are living in the future and this Proves It

Oz, did it appear that your cab driver also never missed an episode of Aussie Idol? How people can tell you the last 5 "Idol" winners and can't tell you who their congressman is......really makes me question the mindset of our citizenry.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Oz, I've never known you to go overboard with overgeneralizing.

The world has always had morons. The world will always have morons. You took a cab ride with a moron. (And there has always been, and will always be, entrepreneurs who prey on such morons; the DVD makers were only the current incarnation. :P)

Don't put too much into the cab ride! ;D

(My 'kids' - 24 and 21 - and most of their friends seem to be turning out pretty well. They are just young - you know, frequently morons! :o ;))

Maybe we can start a new medical acronym for this. I nominate ARID - age related intellectual deficiency. :)

For those interested, you can watch every game of the AFL pre-season (called the NAB Cup) live or OnDemand and for free on the web (or iPad, etc). Registration is at http://afltv.afl.com.au/. You can subscribe for the regular season for AU$120 (about US$130, I think), but you would need to be a pretty hard core footy fan to pay for that.

Ancient Aliens is a show produced by the History Channel. The cabbie just bought the series on DVD.

I'm cranking The Best of Warrant on my headphones on the way to work this morning. I forgot how many good rockin' glam rock tunes they had. Good times. I reckon it's a human impossibility for anyone who was listening to tunes in the late 80's/early 90's to play Cherry Pie cranked up and not start banging their head to the beat.
