How about a Catholic Athletic Conference in the metro area?

I could see Lechner from Hill not wanting to travel to Holy Family much when he's getting good competition closer, but I'm not sure where this wouldn't be a good fit athletically.  Maybe he was talking about Cretin in football before they announced they wouldn't consider it.

Totino Grace QB AJ LaPanta's headed to SJU.  ;D

In related news, Anthony LaPanta has agreed to be the PA voice of the newly formed SJ1 JV team for the next four seasons.  Says LaPanta, "Very excited to be a Johnnie father and if I'm gonna be at the games, might as well lend my voice."

You said you wouldn't be ashamed, but you haven't figured out why you would hide it.

I can think of a couple reasons other than shame over comparison to UST for FTE not to include that sentence. One might be that he knows that family and he wanted to avoid a discussion about the money they were receiving and instead wanted to focus on the rest of the article. I've got more if anyone need 'em.

EDIT: but I don't think we need them, really, as it doesn't actually matter.  I wonder what the rest of the article said...  I can't remember at this point.

He'd be a h_ll of a lot better than Dave Lee.

Yes, and the history of this type of conference (CCC and Don Bosco) was discussed right here a couple weeks ago.

Perhaps the MIACPP started the ball rolling?  8-)

Personally, I think Dave Lee is a fine man.  Listening to him call a football, however, is worse than nails on a chalkboard.  I felt the same way when he was calling Gopher games.

For you non-rubes, Anthony LaPanta is a Johnnie.  Obviously raised his kid right.

I have to wonder what kind of $hit Caruso threw at the wall on this one in an effort to keep him away from Collegeville.

I think Caruso shook the kid's hand and smiled, knowing that he had two great QBs heading to UST in Jonah Koski and Dylan Andrew. I don't think Caruso is too worried.

In Australia we call it the "dummy spit" or "spitting the dummy" in reference to a child getting so mad that they spit out their pacifier (dummy) in order to scream and yell.
