That's pretty weak AO.  Even for you.  ::)

The preoccupation with what one receives monetarily from one school or another is wearing thin. Perhaps he went to CCM because it was the best fit for him!
I have a close friend who wanted nothing more than his son to attend SJU,but as his son says- "dad, SJU does not have an Engineering Program"- so he attended NDSU and will graduate later this month and he has a nice paying job secured. What fits best for the student is what the student should do. If the student is talented either academically, musically or athletically will have influence on the decision. There are many low and middle income student s attending private schools and many students from wealthy families attending public (state) schools.
Stop bashing & start congratulating the achievers,Lord knows we have enough underachievers in this world.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Who is bashing him?

Maybe there is an academic reason that he chose Concordia over his D1 offers (unclear if scholarship or preferred walk-on), but the reason given is playing time as a freshman.  Most kids don't have their ideal job in mind when looking at schools.  Even when they do complete an engineering degree at NDSU, they might really want to become a football coach as my cousin is looking to do.

Whatever the case, the kid knows how to fist pump.

Fear the Ear is relatively new to this board & is sharing valid information about his team,CCM,and you just can't stop yourself. You had 7 (seven) responses of FTE being "ashamed" of the $$ amount the kid was getting at CCM- then throwing in that UST or Carleton could have/would have/should have given the kid 100% scholarship to attend their institution. You forgot to mention that Macalester , Lake Forest and Grinnell could have/would have/should have offered the kid a free ride as well.
Fear the Ear did not feel it appropriate to include the $$ of the package the kid received-- that's a good enough explanation for 99% of the people here, but you just can't stop badgering him. By stating that he is "ashamed" because he edited the original article, you are indirectly ripping the kid as well as if he made a bad choice by attending CCM- insinuating "Hey- UST or Carleton would have given you a free ride you big dummy"

One or two responses to Fear the Ear's post would be fine, but you just keep going and going---->your opinion or interpretation of a situation is the only thing that is right and nobody else is entitled to their own opinion. Fear the Ear has every right to post his opinion and to make announcements about his team and to state that he enjoys Old Style beer.

Let this board continue to be entertainment and an escape of everyday reality-- don't make it an interrogation of why a kid did or did not attend a certain school or that a poster is "ashamed" of a certain financial package that a kid received-life has too many other important things to be concerned with and a D3 Football message board isn't one of them.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

!
I feel like I'm a Kardashian,  "This is what you said, but THIS IS WHAT YOU MEANT TO SAY!"  I never said the kid was dumb for not going to UST/Carleton/Grinnell.   If he was ashamed, I was just arguing that he shouldn't be.  I never said that FeartheEar was ashamed of anything.  The only thing I assumed about FearTheEar was that he understood that scholarship amounts are not normally private.  I assumed this was common knowledge and wanted to question further his reason behind the censorship.  If you're going to post an article from another site, provide the link--as I'm sure Pat could tell you that traffic to websites does matter and selective editing of articles should generally be frowned upon.  You're the one who wondered first about Jesse's other unnamed motives for choosing Concordia.

How about forgetting the latest line of nonsense and get down to important business?
Much of the Minnesota fishing opens on the 11th (at least that's what I hear from here in western CO) so who is going fishing for what and where? Duff can then comment on the pros and cons of your choices.
Oh  -- and most important, what brand of beer are you taking?   :P

Staying on fishing. Braid or mono for jigging walleye?
If braid- leader or tie direct?  I'm taking my sons up north and need all the advice I can get.
Canadian beer for me.

DuffMan

I'm picking up my boat this evening (over a month later than usual).  For opener, I'll likely be on a little gem a few miles from my house.  If the weather drastically improves and the lake our cabin is on opens up (I'll be checking it in a few hours  ;D), I may head there, instead.  Beer--TBD.

I'm about as far from a walleye guru as you can get, but lake or river?  River, I'd go braid for sure.  Lake, braid unless it's gin clear.  Leader on a lake, I'd tie direct on a river, but a lot of guys use a leader.

Ah, but a Kardishian has hotness as well (at least for Kim and that younger one). And while you could be a pretty fella, I'm pretty sure you aren't my type (not that there's anything wrong with that. No, of course not).

For a non guru you sure sound like you know what you're talking about.
Thanks for advice. Braid and leader it is.
I hope the lakes open up for you.
