A Christmas Story... Paradise by the Dashboard Lights.. Now I feel old.

Duff, I am guessing that the Royal was a goalie! They are weirdos...just ask their teammates! ;D

Given the fact that my father-in-law (from International Falls) is/was a goalie, I'm not going to comment  ;D ;)

Old school hockey.  Goallies don't need no stinkin' masks.

Here is my favorite Gordie Howe quote about "protective equipment"!

"You can always get someone to do your thinking for you."

High sticking, tripping, slashing, spearing, charging, hooking, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, interference, roughing... everything else is just figure skating.  ~Author Unknown

Another outstanding year for UST...what do we need to do to break into Williams' territory?

Don't get so ahead of yourselves there, Tommies. If you want to be like the Williams then the first thing you need to be is blindingly arrogant...  Oh, wait. You're doing just fine. Keep setting those goals high, boys.

Well, I guess there will always be those who look toward future success and others who spend more time reflecting on what happened in the past.

In a post about accomplishments from LAST year you accuse me of looking to the past?  Admittedly, last year is the recent past, but it's still the past, and you're presenting it as evidence which is forward looking. I know I'm nit picking but I reckon you need to put at least a little effort into your polemics.

Skip the football playoffs and make the players row boats?

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure that I gave no "evidence" of future success, nor did I make any claims.  I simply asked what UST would need to do to compete with Williams.  And yes, 2012 is in the past...unlike others we don't have to look toward the more distant past...

We have a rowing team...not sure if they're any good, though.

NB. I saw you slip that "distant" in there.

I'd like to see them take men's Lacrosse from a club sport to DIII.  The team just won its 3rd MCLA Division II championship in 4 years.

Is there a DIII lacrosse team west of Ohio?
The last shall be first and the shall be.......

Lacrosse is getting here. Augsburg will have a varsity women's lacrosse team next spring and there are a bunch in SoCal. Colorado College has a men's lacrosse team and there are other teams in Texas that have just started.
