This diehard SJU supporter will be huddled around his computer and cheering for a blowout by St Glenn and his relatives (F.A.M.I.L.Y) tonight over UW-RF. My nephew will be making his first ever road trip for the Tommies. Would love to see the kid get in and have a chance to make a few plays. Now I feel dirty. Time to take a shower.

Good for you!!! I know how it feels My Son's high school football team met up with my Alma Mater for the state playoff, and of course I was fired up and definitely routing for my son to the dismay of my old high school buddies, teammates and coaches. Its definitely strange!!! but no regrets (F.A.M.I.L.Y) is (F.A.M.I.L.Y) ;D

A 250% scoring percentage?  :o :o I'm imagining an average of 2 and a half made shots per possession meaning your team has managed to smuggle some extra netballs onto the court.

No, not as crazy as that. It means 2.5 times your opponent's score on average. So 15-6 victories.

On the chance that SJU would host a playoff game again, they would not have the ability to say no -- that would be the NCAA's game to grant rights to, but that hasn't come up since we last requested rights.
Geez Pat, you make it sound as if SJU's best days are behind them..... :-\
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Do you think its possible or even make sense to have a D3 TV Network to televise game on ESPN Oucho " from the movie Dodge Ball" or something??? I have 500 or more channels of crap on most of the time. Again with all the D3 schools there has to be a play for it.  What do you guys think???

ESPN was founded by DePauw alum Bill Rasmussen.  Last year ESPN helped put together the St. Olaf @ DePauw broadcast.  He was on the broadcast last year, and it sounded like ESPN would like to get in the D3 market and maybe start a network.  The question is how to make it work and who watches.  The way MIAC teams are currently doing it works out well for them.  I have several DePauw alums in my family so I do follow them a little.  With the number of things that athletic department has going for it I could not believe the quality of the video broadcast.  It was worse that the high school games I watched on public television 15 years ago.  The game was overshadowed the following week by Robby Long's termination, and the stated reason so I am not sure if the comments got out.  I think in time ESPN will try to do something with D3.  Texas A&M's game last week was online through PPV.  I personally think if it comes it will be through regional stations that may start requiring some of these schools to play at strange times to get the games on television.  I would prefer it if we did something like we are currently doing with the schools, but maybe have the conference do it instead.  It is just nice to be able to watch the games online.  The BigTen is realizing how difficult it can be to have your own station.  It is solid in the fall with football's domination of television dollars.  BigTen basketball is second to none.  The problem is there are a lot of nights and weekend days after football season where the programs are just bad.  It is why the BigTen added hockey, and even more telling the latest round of expansion to include lacrosse.  Johns Hopkins joined the BigTen as an associate member for lacrosse to help with television.  In Texas I have to suffer through the Longhorn Network instead of CBS College Sports.  There are several times I am wondering why that station just doesn't show Dr. Phil with a scrolling depression help line on the bottom.

Hey ChicagoTommie, are you British or Canadian? There are a lot of extra "u's" in your words. (e.g. Oucho, routing) If you post that Tommie colours are silver and purple, I'll have my answer.

I gotta keep TDT in check-we are in trouble. At least we have Veeks seats, so only he stands to lose.
Lokking forward to seeing a game when it isn't 30 out!

So the UWRF commentators aren't very optimistic about their chances.  They're talking about "what their team can learn from a team like UST."

Mr.MIAC

Does anyone else have no video feed for the UST game?

No video for me, only audio.

Called the UW-RF TV services help line. They are working to get the video feed live. They are going to call me if/when they get it fixed. I'll post an update.

I haven't heard Brenton Braddock's name yet. I wonder if he's injured.

Pat Coleman

I don't think that Braddock will be used tonight. Apparently nursing a hamstring and if you don't need him, why use him, especially on grass?

Video feed is currently working. Quality isn't anything special but you can track the play and where the ball is.

ChicagoTommie

Thanks for the update I was freaking out I thought it was my computer...Thank God for audio at least! Ole Texas thanks for your dissertation on D3 TV! Sorry south side Irish ;D
