It all reminds me again of politics....democrats spreading dirty laundry about a young republican star.

This ignorant, totally out of left field comment really clarifies things for me.  Now I get where Ron is coming from.

Will save me a lot of time when reading the board in the future.

Didn't take the course on reading between the lines at UST......someone is gonna have to spell this out for me.

Political analogies on the board are usually met with scorn.
I learned this one the hard way.

Oh, my apologies.  Trying my best to communicate clearly here...but am no Bill Simmons when it comes to referencing cultural examples as analogies.  Political ones are just easier.  I'll refrain in the future.
The last shall be first and the shall be.......

I hadn't even noticed that comment. Damn it. I hate own goals.

Wow, just spent about 30 minutes reading all the posts since Saturday.  Some great cameos and analysis.

-I enjoyed watching the procession of Tommies dragged out of the SJU student section.  Had to be at least 10 who the UST rent a cops dragged outta there (maybe for their own safety??).

-My favorite sign of the day: Caruso Drinks Wine Coolers...saw it while we walked in and pointed it out to DustySJU, we laughed, and the Tommie mom in front of us found ZERO humor in the sign, quickly spouting "No he doesn't" in the snottiest voice you can imagine!!!

-Great tailgate on Saturday morning.  MIACPP celebrities in attendance included Carbo, OneArmedScot, UST Benchwarmer, Finsleft, Retired Old Rat, etc.

-Really a terrific atmosphere at UST.  The game was very competitive (albeit sloppy at times).  The officials had a tough afternoon.  They missed several blocks in the back & holding calls while making a very bizarre call on the illegal number penalty in the 4th qtr (that required much debate among the officials and was ultimately declined by UST).  Having two #1's on the travel roster of 53 is borderline ridiculous.  Give every player who travels/plays a different number.  Anyone else ever seen that called before?

-Anyone know who's in charge of the music at UST?  It was loud enough that I bet even MIAC Maniac could hear it.  In addition, they played the music for 3-4 seconds (it was egregious, not just a few slow trigger finger mistakes, this happened all game) every single time SJU was on offense and at the line of scrimmage.  This has to be explicitly illegal (basically pumping in sound to make it more difficult on the opponent who may/may not want to audible).  Just an FYI for you unfortunate souls who have to go to UST still this Fall...

Gotta run I'm headed to Plum's for Glenn's 7pm film session.  Can't wait to hear the X's and O's!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if TDT leaves Plum's with a new set of car keys.

For those with 35 minutes to kill, here is the entire last quarter of Friday's Hawthorn/Geelong Preliminary Final.  A real nail biter.

BTW, every so often I find entire games posted on youtube.  I'll keep my eyes open for the Grand Final (if Hawthorn win) and post it here for those interested.

As deep as the MIAC is right now, no one can get overlooked. I think there are probably only 5 teams (UST, SJU, BU, Conc, Aug) with any realistic shot, talent-wise, of winning the league. But Olaf and GAC could beat any of those 5 if they fell asleep for a week or even just had a rough game. Case in point: GAC almost got Augsburg last week and they played UST tight last year, Olaf beat Bethel last year.
Amen brother. Anyone of the has beens (no pun intended) or never was on this board who look at week 1 results and extrapolate them out to a meaningful end of the season are either:
A.)Drunk
B.)Stupid
C.)Delusional
D.)A & C but not B
E.)A,B & C

Take your pick boys, but this rodeo is far from over. There is plenty of beer to drink & cigars to smoke while we worry about who our teams play in week 2.  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I noticed the artificial noise too...especially on crucial drives in the fourth quarter.  Not even borderline unsportsmanlike...just downright cheap, dirty and classless.  If I want to hear that crap I'll go to a game at the Humpty Dome or go to an Arena Football League game.  MIAC needs to step up and do something about it....total BS and utterly defenseless.

Faunch, maybe you should offer to form a Johnnie advisory committee so that you can do something constructive to try and right all the wrongs at St. Thomas.  I'm sure the administration would welcome your expertise and enthusiasm for uncovering and addressing all of their shortcomings. ;) :D

Maybe someone from St. Thomas looks at this board once in awhile and will get in touch with you.  I'm thinking you could be in charge and could recruit a committee member from each of the other MIAC schools.

I was walking across the UST campus once and there were quite a few cracks in the sidewalk.  Also, I thought some of the trees could have been greener.

You could be the overseas representative.  Now that I think about it there could probably be representatives from Linfield, Mount Union and whoever the heck BDB's team is.  You could get together once a month out in woods by St. John's.  I'm sure St. Thomas could find some benefactor from one of the representative schools to cover your expenses.
