Carleton is taunting SJU with a "regular" video feed and a "HD" video feed.  Way to go Knights!

I may have to try the replay "on demand" as one of my 15 nieces decided to get married during football season..... :-\
I will look at Twitter between the ceremony & the reception. Oh well, free beer ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

First, that poll above has me freaking out. I hate that there is such consensus behind Bethel going into Saturday. Maybe I'm just being superstitious, but UST still has loads of talent and they are fighting for their life. I just like it much more when teams are overlooking us or have it as a toss-up. But, here's to hoping the d3football.com MIAC braintrust actually knows a thing or two  :o

Second, Massey ratings of playoff eligible D3 teams for our viewing pleasure:
1. Linfield
2. UMHB
3. UWW
4. UWP
5. Bethel
6. Johns Hopkins
7. UWO
8. Mount Union
9. NCC
10. UST
11. Wesley
12. John Carroll
13. Coe
14. SJU
15. Wheaton

18. Augsburg

25. Cobbers
26. GAC

Mount is the one that jumps off the page, and their SOS at #105 is the reason for the 'low' position. This is where subjectivity is the missing ingredient.

Interesting to see where the others come in though. The MIAC's 14-1 record is a major reason we've got so many teams rated so highly.

Massey's Predictions for Saturdays Games:

St. Olaf 17, Augsburg 41 - 96% probability of Auggie win.

Cobbers 40, Hamline 17 - 96% prob of Cobber win

SJU 31, Carleton 13 - 91% prob of SJU win

GAC 33, Valley City St 14 - 94% prob of Gustie win

UST 28, Bethel 31 - 54% prob of Bethel win

Computer rankings and predictions are what they are, obviously. But it is interesting that it has Bethel as only a 3 point favorite at home and essentially calls the game a 50-50 prob. It doesn't get much closer than that.

Massey is always interesting to look at. And it's the first poll/rating system I've seen that actually gets the WIAC order right.  Of course the Mount thing is laughable, but with no subjectivity that will happen from time to time.

Pretty cool  :)  Could we get "Massey" to do a regular segment for the MIAC on our board for the upcoming games in the MIAC???

Also it would be nice to understand the analytics behind the measurements in his program...not expecting him to share his programming, just how he measures the teams and what data drives the predictions. ...Still pretty cool and interesting! I appreciate him sharing!!!

The Tommie Bethel game has me on edge, and this poll is definitely added to it... I hope the game lives up to the Hype!!!

Go Tommie's ;D

Wow!  That is pretty bad for St. Olaf.  I guess it is a good thing we spent so much time researching, "What Does the Fox Say?".

Give me your cell number and I'll send you text messages tracking the game. You can keep the phone on silent beside you.  If you think you won't get caught...

And I didn't know 420.  The Mary Jane culture is way beyond me.

We might want to take it easy on the J-term talk. We wouldn't want anyone calling this board a J-term "smokefest."
:D

Smokefest...  I bet that was on offer at Macalester.

BA-ZING!

They did have a Cannabis Club at one time.  I had to do some work there, and I stole the sign.  At one point it was hanging on my boss's office door.  The students also used to count down to 4:20 at football games.

Why 4:20?
Ahhh the Aussie humor....
In case you aren't joking the definition(s) from Urban Dictionary http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=420

I drive by San Rafael High at least twice a day - it's between our house and the freeway.  I'll have to make a point to roll down my windows when I drive by in the afternoon.  Lucky #13 at one time wanted to attend SRH; had he done so, he likely would have never ended up at SJU.  They win about one fb game a year.

I hear you Oz. I didn't get the 420 either.

However, as ChiTom can tell you, we know all about the 480.

Did you the big industry news of the heist of 65 cases of Pappy Van Winkle in Frankfort Kentucky? Nearly $26K worth of hooch  :o http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20131016/BUSINESS/310160119

Hazz, Being nervous is just an indication that you understand the process and that the job at hand still needs to be completed.I completely expect Steve Johnson to have this group focused & ready to go @ 1:00PM Saturday.

That being said, I ran across this on Amazon and just so nobody is fooled GC is not the creator of the F.A.M.I.L.Y slogan, David L.Fleet wrote a book in 2012.
http://www.amazon.com/Family-Forget-About-Fight-Unconditional/dp/1469958619/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1382133775&sr=1-1&keywords=forget+about+me+i+love+you

This also looks like something Steve Johnson has been having his players express for years. Of the Bethel players I have known over the years they have indicated, they go into the program a boy & leave a man because of Johnson's influence on them.
I know this can be said for many coaches as well as Drill Instructors,Guidance Councilors and Clergy.

I just wanted to share that GC was not the originator of this slogan when I ran across it today, that all...
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

One of dem dare "inside" type jobs. Holding the Pappy hostage for $300-$400 per bottle.

Now that's a crime!

D O.C.

I know this can be said of the Mustang Ranch too.
(don't tell me I have to explain that to Land of A 1000 Lakes like 420).

Me thinks D.O.C. might be $50 into a $300-$400 liberated jug of Pappy.
