Just spoke to someone that was in Collegeville yesterday.  It seems that during the rain a number of fans huddled around the protection of the concession / pressbox area and were attempting to watch the game on the TV monitors.  The SJU admin didn't want them doing this so they shut off the televisions.  The message is clear...no webcast and no TV viewing at Clemens Stadium on rainy days.  The person I talked to said that nobody was really buying concessions anyway.   :(  The PR machine in Collegeville is really doing a stellar job.

That's preposterous. :(

By now, I'm sure everybody has seen The Miracle at Jordan-Hare, but in case you missed it...

Strangely enough, this was the thought I had after I'd peeled myself off the living room ceiling.  "Wow, that's the kind of thing that I always felt like SJU was going to pull on us." Standing on the sidelines in the waning seconds of the '99 and '00 BU/SJU games, you could just feel something like that was trying its best to happen.  Johnnie Magic, guess you would call it.  Gut wrenching stuff for all involved, but it is what makes sport (and college football in particular) so special!
The artist formerly known as Carl Spackler... it's nice to be back!

War Friggin' Eagle!
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I wonder if Johnson would have punched that last TD in if it were someone other than GF on the opposing sideline?

A tradition unrivaled...

Bethel will potentially meet Mount Union before punching their ticket to Salem, but as they say "one game at a time".

Bethel 2nd seed to North Central?  Really?   :o
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Bethel looks to be a number one seed.

First thing I noticed as well.  To be the man, you have to beat the man.  Their regional final game won't be any gimme either.

Mary Hardin Baylor's draw looks really nice.

I know...when I saw NCC was #1 in North I thought for sure UWW would named #2 in that region (not Bethel)..

I agree---the #1s are the top most and bottom most teams

That makes more sense. Same would go for the South (MHB #1..not Hobart).

Thought about it a little more.  Now that I visualize the bracket, I think you are right.  My bad.

Using "bracket logic" looks like the top 8 teams in the country in the NCAA committee eyes are thus:

1. Mount Union
2. Whitewater
3. Mary Hardin Baylor
4. Bethel
5. North Central
6. Hobart
7. Pacific Lutheran
8. Johns Hopkins

Which are the top 8 undefeated teams in D3's top 25: http://www.d3football.com/top25/2013/week11

I had the same thought - and little doubt that Bethel would have gone for the points!!!
Good luck to the Royals - I think they can make a run!

Congrats to Gary and the Johnnies - it was a most enjoyable season!!!
