Wow - you must have some really bad memories from Arden Hills.  ;D
More that I just think it's a terrible place to watch a game.

Granted, SJU is a much nicer stadium and given the same weather conditions I too would rather watch a game at SJU. However, given the conditions of last Saturday (rain, cold, wind), I would much rather watch a game ANYWHERE else if it is 60 and sunny out. When it's rainy, cold and windy it is just not very enjoyable to me to endure those conditions.

But I wouldn't call Arden Hills a 'terrible' place to watch a game. Yeah, there could be more seating made available on the visitors side, but about the only time that more seating has been needed the last several years is for the SJU game. I'm assuming that the only time you are at Arden Hills is for the SJU game, then I could see where your point of view may be skewed a bit from a seating stand point but again, I wouldn't classify that in the 'terrible' category.  About the only thing that would make it terrible for me is if there are obstructed views from the stands.

I actually don't mind watching games in arden hills.  It doesn't make you feel like you are in the middle of the metro watching a footabll game like you do while at Auggie Tech and Hamline.  Don't care much for watching the game and traffic traveling on busy roads (ie 94 and Snelling Ave.) at the same time.  Plus, at least Bethel has visitor seating and not a mix and match of fans on one side.

The weather in arden hills for the bethel/cobber games has always been really nice, which usually leads to Bethel running trick plays to win!  ;D

D O.C.

LINFIELD has a train track running 200 feet from the field and the engineers know who to blow the whistle for.

Just curious, what makes it such a bad place to watch a game?

It just feels like a mediocre high school field as opposed to a place where a perennial national powerhouse plays their home games.  Couple that with the fact that SJU often struggles there, and I just don't like the place.  ;D

A tradition unrivaled...

I don't remember that, but if I remember correctly, Bethel has a train track right behind their visitor sideline.  It annoyed me.  The difference:

2000 SJU loses at Bethel:  Train = annoying
2002 SJU wins at Catdome:  Train = non-factor

I hear ya, it is in need of an upgrade / several upgrades, but I don't see that happening any time soon given the fiscal climate at BU these days.  However, none of these would qualify as making it a "terrible place to watch a game".

You must be a qualitative chemist, as opposed to an quantitative chemist.   ;)

GandB, I have the feeling that getting you to admit BU is a terrible place to watch football would be only slightly easier than convincing a loving mother to admit her child is a genuine plague on humanity.

Bethel has a track as well. SOP during practice is anytime a train comes along, the team turns and does the 'horn pull' sign. They usually oblige and get a cheer in response. Gotta think it makes for a highlight during the fall for the guys running their routes on that track.

No mother would ever admit to having an ugly baby, they are all special in their own ways  ;D (dad's behind closed doors...sometimes another story  8-))

What gives you that idea?  :)

Below average? Sure.  Lacking in some amenities? Yes.

It just has a ways to go before it would be terrible.

Also, like Royals Fan pointed out, the only time seating on the visitor side becomes an issue is when the red clad masses of SJU come to town, so I can see where that would seem to be more of an issue for you guys.

Rest of the season?  No issue.  At lease BU doesn't charge a premium price for tickets vs. SJU like some other destinations do in order to take advantage of the inelastic demand that comes with Johnnie fans wanting to watch their team.

#1 is in the oven currently, so I guess I'll have to withhold judgment on whether she's ugly or not...her mother's good looks have a lot to overcome in her father's lack there of.

Well perkins stadium is one of the largest in D3 and I know you don't like that one either  ;)

(Duff....don't tell anybody but seeding says we may have to go back to Perkins in December and if things go wrong that will give them 3-0 bragging rights. Of course, then they can duck us for years by not making the playoffs.)

Ok, neither of those arguments have anything to do with being able to watch a game there. Sure, if you are a player than you could complain about the field and not like having to play on the field. So I guess my original comment was pretty much spot on - that you have too many bad memories there - not so much that it is a terrible place to watch a football game.  :)

That's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen!  A real angle.
