Is anybody else having problems with the AFCA.com website?
I wasn't earlier today, but it is not available now.

Congrats to the players and Coach J!

I'll go ahead and state again that I wish they gave out OPOY & DPOY. It's a shame Bethel had to choose between honoring Peterson and Mathis (I think either would have won if put up).

You can also see the depth of the conference in the awards. In years past where the champ and runner up were heads and shoulders above the rest of the league, you saw a lot of guys from those teams. The fact that so many schools are represented speaks to the depth of the MIAC right now.

I've always wondered why some conference choose not to honor an OPOY and DPOY instead of just 1 POY. Doesn't make much sense to me in a sport like football.
You win! You always do!

Agreed. Just for a few MIAC centric examples

2003:
MVP-Elliot
OPOY- Kirchoff
DPOY- Hood

2006:
MVP - Wetzel
OPOY- Porta
DPOY- Carr

In both those years, each player listed deserved recognition of that level/sort.

You guys, check out this week's highlight video made by the Bethel student.  It's similar to last weeks, but this week has some pretty powerful testimony from Coach J and the players.  It really captures well how special this Bethel team is and what their program is based on.  Pretty cool stuff to see out of college guys at a little school in Minnesota.

Jeez.  If BU win the championship I guess I'll be happy for them.  I would be happier for CON, I think, but I'll still be happy for BU.  If this sounds like a low, grudging concession, that's only because it is.  But at least I made it.  Not gracefully, but made.

Hats off to Austin Barr- quite the film maker/story teller. There is a world of advertising waiting for you if you choose that path. You have talent. The internet has made things possible that were not possible 10 years ago. I'm sure there are many medium & small companies who would gladly pay for your talents to tell their story to their customer base.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Weather report for Arden Hills on Saturday is 41 F, overcast, 6 mph winds and no chance of precipitation. Wish I was in the twin cities this weekend to take in the game, but I will be down in the KC, KS area for the holidays. I'll be watching the stream and checking in on things as I can.

Go Royals!

I was very happy to see this after earlier reports this week were showing snow on saturday.

I'll be in attendance, and am thankful that it won't be as cold as last week's game would have been in Arden Hills...hoping the Royals can keep it rolling!

I'll be in attendance for the first time this year!!!! Back in the Cities for Thanksgiving. Can't wait to see the team in person. The streams are nice, but nothing beats seeing it live.

Of course, if they lose on my first and only game day appearance, I may be like the guy in the Bud Light commercial...confined to the basement/KC for the remainder of my days to ensure they keep winning  :)

Welcome back Hazzben.  They usually have a Thanksgiving morning practice that you should go to if possible.   You are correct about being there in person.  The place rocks during a game.
