I know I'm stating the obvious, but my son-in-law just attempted to but up lights for my wife and I and he had to come in 4 different times over 40 minutes to warm up!  He mentioned two different times on how he can't even imagine those boys playing in these conditions.  His son was a great player for the Royals several years ago and he's not sure if he'd even want his own boy playing, very dangerous!  It's 7 degrees right now and the forecast say's -6 on Saturday, without the wind!! 

I have to believe that there is a guide line within the NCAA that would take safety into consideration before allowing this game to be played??  I'm very old school, so I say game on.....but remember, I said "old school"

Scrubby, yes, your grandson was a great player for Bethel.  From my long distance view he seemed like a great person as well.

I'm glad he graduated.  4 years seeing him tear us up was more than enough.

Now, to bring it back to the field. I have delayed my "pick em" choices because of the Bethel-NCC game. For whatever reason, I have this feeling about Bethel which I posted on the WIAC board. What I need to know from you Bethel guys: Can the Royals do this thing??

Right after the stretch in the season when Bethel beat Augsburg, Concordia and St. Thomas in straight weeks I thought the sky was the limit for these guys. My expectations are a bit more tempered as the long season takes it's toll on both body and spirit. Could they run the table? Yeah, if things go their way. Could North Central win going away? I don't think so. If the Cardinals can win on Saturday it will be a hard fought game.

As an aside, I'm not sure what the best game will be to watch - the BU/NCC game or the UWW/Linfield game. Both of these games could come down to whoever has final possession.

Demetrius Ypsilanti was not an Ancient Greek, but a hero of the Greek war of independence in the 1820s against the Ottoman Empire.  What REALLY got the attention of the town fathers of then Woodruff's Grove was the defense of Argos.  With 220 soldiers, he held out against an army of 8,000.  When all provisions were depleted, he (and his entire army) slipped away one night, not losing a single man in the entire siege!  Soon thereafter, Woodruff's Grove became Ypsilanti (though he had no connection at all to the town).

Though we do have some really good Greek restaurants!
