Having been at the game, I'd say it didn't feel as bad as it sounds when I read about the weather conditions. I'm sure I would say something different if I had been playing. I can only imagine what that field felt like to play on. Thank you to all the people who wrote about the BU season. Thank you to the BU players who contributed so much toward a rewarding season. Thank you to Coach J for bringing along yet another crew of young men who will have mighty great memories of their time in college football.  I sat thru today's game with a guy who played at GAC. We had a great time watching a game played for the love of the game. Thank you BU football!

Nice write up and a couple of pictures in the Pioneer Press this morning.

And here is what is on bethel's website: http://athletics.bethel.edu/news/2013/12/7/FB_1207134333.aspx

A tough way to end the season with their MIAC MVP QB watching from the sideline. "What could have been" is an exercise in futility but we can't help ourselves. I feel for Keefe, coming into the biggest game of the year, knowing all week he would get the start, the kid probably didn't sleep well all week.

Good season Royals.

Now the off season officially begins on MIAC-PP-

Having followed Bethel Football for 20 years I need to say this was the best all-around team we have put on the field. Congratulations to Coach J and the team on a great season and a great career for these Seniors! You have achieved much for which you can be very proud. Looking forward to next season and another run through the playoffs. :)
I agree with this.

Tough way to end a tremendous season for Bethel, but the ending does little to diminish the rest of it.  Well done, guys!

so if NoDak doesn't come courting him will Glen take the Bison job?  http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/writer/bruce-feldman/24368098/wyoming-lands-bohl-as-new-head-coach

I dot follow Bohl's thinking on this...its not a step up IMO seems lateral at best... the money must be much better in Wyoming

Is this an exhaustive list?
I move to add whiskey to the list.

It's a step up only in the sense that he's moving from FCS to FBS. Wyoming wants those bowl game dollars, and they're willing to pay for it. They think they can become the next Boise State.

The last FCS national championship coach Wyoming hired only had a winning percentage of .422 (Joe Glenn from Montana) at the helm for the Cowboys.

Bohl is 55 and is in his prime earning years. He is taking the money because one never knows when an opportunity (big payday) may come around again. NDSU didn't even try to make a counter offer because they know Wyoming is throwing around crazy cash.

It makes a guy wonder who would've come calling had he waited until the end of the season. Wyoming is not a program known for putting up massive dollars when compared to the places like Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, and just about any school in the SEC.

I bet there is a team near the bottom of the barrel in the SEC that would be willing to double or triple whatever Wyoming offered him--maybe Arkansas is looking to move on after an atrocious first year for Bret Bielema, going 0-8 in the SEC.

Problem with that is Arkansas will probably give him at least 3-4 years. While I love seeing him fail down there these aren't his kids, they'll give him time to try and build his own team.

Kentucky would be that SEC school. Recent examples around the nation of turning around football programs would be Auburn,Missouri, USC (this year after cutting loose Lane Kiffin) Duke, Michigan State.
Wyoming has the evidence that it can be done. Now Minnesota Gopher fans are wondering the same thing  ::)

Basketball rules the roost at Kentucky.

The only way UK puts up big bucks for a football coach is if a donor gives money for that purpose expressly, and I think the same can be said for a school like Vanderbilt. Don't look for the Commodores to shell out big money for a football coach anytime soon.

Stagg Again!!

I wanted to take a moment to thank all the folks at Bethel for doing such a wonderful job hosting the Regional Finals on Saturday.  Clearly, a lot of work went into getting the field ready for the game.  Those efforts did not go unnoticed.  A special shout-out to the young student athletes who manned (or "womanned") the ticket table and concession stands.  These young men and women were all very friendly, welcoming, and great representatives for Bethel University.  One final note... As I was leaving the stadium, I heard one Bethel football player say to a teammate, "Well it didn't go our way today, but I sure had fun out there."  I paused and thought, "What a fantastic comment and a great attitude."  All in, Bethel University should be very proud!

Congratulations on a great season, and best of luck during the off season.  We will be looking forward to watching you all excel again next year.

In rough numbers, hes going from $200K base/$350K with incentives to $750K base/$1.2M with incentives.  Its sounding like the entire staff will continue until the playoffs are over, and then Bohl (obviously) and 5 of the assistants will all probably be gone.  Not sure what to think of the Caruso speculation.  Never really cared for him as an SJU fan, but thats probably more due to the success he's had moreso than his coaching abilities.  He does have NDSU ties and was pretty successful as a recruiter, from what I've read, while he was there.
