Ok I deleted it. I thought we were having some fun with Treasure City. The fact that my wife is from somewhere rural Morrison County doesn't seem too personal to me.

Not too personal for me!   ;)
I can't remember the last time I was in Treasure City.  We used to go past a lot, but we don't get that way too often anymore.

A tradition unrivaled...

What's the consensus on this board concerning the outcome of Friday night's game? Can UWW's defense stop UMU's offense? Will it be a low scoring affair or a high-octane barn burner?

I'll throw out the first bone: UWW 24 UMU 21 Go Warhawks!

No it's me. I'm an idiot. Risqué means suggestive of a... Intimate nature. I thought I could be clever and refer to her 'growing up' and what sort of bold claim you were making. It was childish by me. Apologies.

on 2nd thought, scratch my boyhood home from the risque tour.  Though I'm not worried about the privacy aspect.  I would not have guessed prior to today that google maps street view had made its way through Long Prairie.  I am not responsible for the broken rim, though it is still the same hoop we put up around 1990.

If there is to be a Chicago Tommie version of the "Tour of Central Minnesota,"  besides visiting Treasure City a quick run over to Bowlus to see the boyhood home of Olympian Duane Bobick

and his brother, Rodney Bobick who was also known as the "Bowlus Bear."

And then over to Thielen Meats in Pierz.

Oh yeah, I know my Central Minny.  :)

Chicago Tommie- Since your trip to Central Minnesota is two years away you should take the time to watch the movie "Fargo". This will help you understand us square headed Minnesotans and why some of us are so proud of places like Stearns County or Meeker County.  :-X

After that you should take in Garrison Keillor and Prairie Home Companion.
You can thank me later.

Make sure he has a map to Lake Wobegon, Old Auggie.

Can be a bit hard to find.

Was that an attempt at lutefisk, or is there something called Lutz fish that I have never heard of?  ???

When I read "Lutz fish" I dismissed it as something that would give me a headache to think about.

Way to go Duff cutting through the tangled web to figure out he probably meant lutefisk.  ;)

Chicago Tommie, I want to have a beer and a brat with you man!  8-)

You might need a translator. Although I don't know where you'll find someone who speaks that language.

Chicago Tommie-
Here is a sample of what life is like in Lake Wobegon Minnesota. You can expect this anywhere in Central Minnesota. I will look for a map but I just can't put my fingers on it right now.

CT: remember that Lutefisk is a Norwegian thing- but some others of Scandinavian heritage partake, as well as some of Eastern European heritage (with enough alcohol) and or to "fit in" with their spouse's family. That's why I looked for a farm girl from German heritage  ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Watching the ESPN special and piece on John (he wants you to call him John by the way), and then watching the Ron Perlman narrated piece tonight at the Gagliardi Trophy presentation, just makes me hope I get to meet the man before he leaves us on this earth.  What an amazing, humble, and great man.
