How the heck was I supposed to know that?  It doesn't change the fact that their sprint turf design is a crime against humanity.

Ha! You're not, but it was hilarious to read CobberHawkeye's response. And for some reason, the fact that it was you Oz, made it even funnier.  ;D ;)

Seriously though Oz, why do you hate troubled kids? Do you kill kittens on the weekend too :o >:( ;)...

Oz - you are a mean,mean man

Ah, cat juggling...I've heard of that.

For all the dog lovers out there.  This is pretty amazing.

Dang, what's up with that website?  It's one tear jerking dog story after another. Good find.

Speaking of animal lovers, I had a first in my lifetime experience this past Saturday afternoon at a local bar in my community. I walked into the bar and a fellow told me I had to try the culinary delight that he and his buddies has gotten at a bar in Nicollet earlier in the day. I said that would be fine with me only to find out that the food was deep fried testicles of bulls, also known as Rocky Mountain oysters. I have to admit the food tasted pretty good. :o I suppose we could add this to the menu for the Stiftungsfestivities in Collegeville this coming fall. ;)

retagent

I always thought that Rocky Mountain oysters were sheep's testicles. ???

Johnnie Red

Retagent, they do also include sheep's testicles.

http://weburbanist.com/2011/01/16/sporting-colors-10-crazy-colorful-football-fields/

I think those fields ruin the atmosphere of football. Call me an old codger if you must but I think they murder the gridiron spirit.

And as for the diamond backs, I hope they never win another game.

Actually, Diamond Ranch Academy, home of the Diamondbacks, is a residential treament center and boarding school for troubled teens.

I wish the youth attending and participating nothing BUT success.

Ha. I was thinking the same thing Oz. This is a football board, not a troubled teen politically correct board.

As a matter of opinion, this is the last kind of football field trouble teens need. How about that !  :P

A football field is a beautiful thing. Blue fields, diamond back designs etc. are gross.

I knew the idea behind the school, and I too agree it is atrocious.  I want to know what is wrong with Texas that we think a non-natural color field is acceptable.  Then again we have HS with indoor practice facilities and had to open the upper deck at Cowboys stadium for the football playoffs.  Seems like too much money going in to football.  In reality some of these kids could do well to maintain the fields they use for play.  It might teach them a few lessons.  I grew up in a nice area of Dallas.  We were one of the first to get the field turf.  About a year after it was installed one of the players decided to do doughnuts on it effectively destroying the field.

My church group did an event in the Stockyards in Ft. Worth.  We ended up eating at a place that calf fries.  I knew what they were and wanted to give them a try.  A few other people were interested trying them while others not so much.  One of the guys who had never heard of them was going to town with them and the gravy talking about how good they tasted.  We decided to finally inform him of what he was actually eating.  It may have ruined his night, but it brought a lot of laughter to others.

Any Forty-niners, Seahawks, Broncos or Patriots fans on board? And who's playing in NY at the end of the season? From what I saw looks like a Bronco - Forty-niner Super Bowl, but all four teams that won this past weekend were a bit blase' - no real barn burners. I think Peyton's a stud for slinging late into his 30's but I didn't see as much passion like you do at the D3 level.

My grandfather used to love the sausages from there.  I tried to stop there before games at Gustavus to grab some of the beef sticks before games.

I congratulate you all on shower far greater maturity than I ever could (a low bar, granted).

Rock Mountain Oysters would be an excellent culinary treat to add to the menu.  :D

I have only seen some commercials for it, and the sad thing is it looks pretty normal for youth sports these days.  A year ago I witnessed an argument that nearly turned in to an all out brawl that started between 2 parents in a gym before a basketball game.  The reason was that one parent was still upset that his son wasn't the starting CB during football season.  It had been nearly 6 months.  I now need to watch it to see if I recognize any people in it.  I work with Dr. Hearne.  Some of you who are familiar with Friday Night Lights might recognize the name.  He was one of the coaches for Permian that got in a lot of trouble with the state.  His stories about parents and families are troublesome.  One of the ones that he has shared involves a player whose father convinced him if Permian lost a game then his son would be better off taking his life.  Luckily some people including Dr. Hearne intervened to help that player who I now understand is doing quite well.
