I always though Salem was pretty nice, and I have been there in December when it was 70 degrees out.

How does one get to Salem - for those of us not within driving distance who will be flying?

Planes, trains and automobiles.

You take the Johnnies Sun Country Airlines charters or fly into Roanoke/DC/Raleigh/Charlotte etc. NOT a good location to find cheap flights into.  Add it to the list of negatives.

Pretty much what I thought.  Checking Orbitz, cheapest flight MSP to Roanoke is $487 with at least one stop.  cheapest flight MSP to LA is $312 nonstop.

At least Salem's cheap for the NCAA.

And +k to ROR for showing up today, unlike the alumni standup last week. I walked by the table on my way out and there was one nametag there that wasn't picked up -- yours.

My sincere apologies for missing the Standup.  Last week was not good.  It started
out trying to fly to Chicago on Monday.  Northwest was gracious enough to rebook me on a flight Tuesday that got me in to Chicago with about an hour to spare before I had
to catch my return flight.

I was very disappointed to miss the Standup.

The beauty of December from the Southern Tier of NY to NC is you never know what weather you will get.  You could have 10 degree weather or you could have 70 degree weather.

And sometimes you even get to ride a rickety prop plane from Roanoke to Philly on the way home, causing half your crew to actually USE the barf bags rather than just joke about it!

The snow storm flight fiasco was only the beginning of a week that went downhill.
I try not to remember it.
