Why does Texas have such a problem with public intoxication?

Do I still seem bitter? ::)

Duff- Since we're discussing public intoxication in Texas....Seems I recall a story surrounding a certain former All-American linebacker, an immobile but talented quarterback, and the Alamo.   ;D
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

When tmerton gets the Stagg moved to Texas, I'm getting me one of these "Downtime Suites" like my man Cheney.

We can all party there and we won't have to worry about the stings. But be sure to notify my staff in advance if you want to put any gifts in the suite. I want to make sure there's plenty of ice.

Fins ~
Late-Nite talk shows were on fire last evening.....Jason Lee was on 'Craig Ferguson' and one of Union89's All-Time Favorites, Ali-G was on 'Conan O'Brein'.

By the way....is 'Da Ali-G Show ever coming back to HBO??

Johnnie Red

TDT, I have yet to see the photos from my son's trip to Miami last week. Probably never will. Hopefully he did not get another tattoo. One per kid is enough for dear old dad. ;)

Sorry to have missed my man Earl last night. I'll be catching him tonight though.
Ali-G is hilarious. Been catching some of his re-runs. Did you see his interview of Andy Rooney? Andy finally tossed him out of his office.

Rooney attempting to give him an English lesson was classic.  Union89's favorite though is when he sings karaoke at a bar and gets the crowd singing along to some pretty off-color stuff.

As I sit here enjoying a Heineken Dark, I realized that I've deprived you guys of my presence for far too long.  I learned that you need a lot of money to drink in downtown Minneapolis.  Especially when at Old Chicago I decided to get something cheap and got a regular 12 oz can of PBR...for 4 bucks.  Tomorrow I leave for a fun-filled weekend at Camp Leinie at the Leinie Brewery.  From what I've been told, it's a weekend long fest of hearing about Leinie's and  being "forced" to drink a lot of free Leinie products.

Frank and Mongo - I've ignored phone numbers ending in 8000 for months now. I just received a letter in the mail from "Abbie '09" promising my pledge of $25. Sadly, it accidentally got ripped in half in transfit from the PO box to my aprtment.

Isn't there some way us three can come up with a cool 2.5 million so we can name it Hamms Stadium or something sweet like that? Is that too much to ask?  ???

PS - TDT was one button away from getting a sweet text message at 2:34am EST. He would have loved it I'm sure, but I controlled myself.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Good advice for most the posters on this board and for everyone on the WIAC board:

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1000.00. With WorldCom, you would have less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling price, you would have $214.00.

Based on the above, current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It is called the 401-Keg Plan. Feel free to share this investment advice at no charge.

Johnnie Red,

Out of sight, out of mind!  ;D

Also, you woulda had to check your drawers after seeing this huge Bethel University sign outside the Twins game on Weds night and then being overwhelmed with the Royals contigent inside the ballpark.  It made me uncomfortable to say the least.  But I quickly reminded myself of the Johnnies dominance of the Bethel Knitting and Sewing Seminary since the beginning of time.

Wonka: You know better.  Don't force TDT to break out the A material.

Fins, Your prognosticating abilities were shown last week with the SCSU v. Golden Chokers pick. What do your tea leaves say about this week end. Can the Gophers beat the Sioux  at the Ralph for a third time this year?
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Don't see the Sioux making it a clean sweep, even at the Ralph. Love to see my boy Hakstol advance, but if the Golden Rodents get some goaltending, they will win. If they play like they did last weekend (1st half of Huskies game and all of 3rd place game) anybody could beat them. Even Bethel  :o
Should be some more good hockey though.

Based on last weekend, I would rather have Parise between the pipes than Briggs. Goaltending is the key to the tournament.

I was at the Wisconsin game on Saturday and that was the most apathetic attempt I've seen since my study efforts in college.  I did swindle the tickets from my buddy's wife for that session though - so free beer/wings with a bunch of American Family Insurance associates wasn't the worst thing in the world.  And speaking of going down easy, I hope Briggs has his panties on straight this week.
