Just a nod to the guys at d3 HQ. I went to the Top 25, and of the 8 teams still left, the lowest rank is #11, so only 3 teams ranked in the Top 11 didn't make the quarters, and they were beaten by highly ranked teams. The only outlier might be Johns Hopkins. Despite all the flack you take from those that feel their team isn't ranked high enough, you guys have it right.

I'm really surprised nobody picked any "upsets" this week. Like I said in an earlier post, I'm kind of gunning for Wartburg to pull an upset - and that was before the distraction of the Warhawks losing their coach to D1 UB.

I'm also somewhat surprised that none of the three prognosticators picked Widener, the home and higher seeded team over the Wildcats of Linfield.

I'm a bit confused - you say you are really surprised nobody picked any 'upsets' but then you say that your surprised no one picked Widener over Linfield. Since Widener is a higher seed, wouldn't that be considered an 'upset'?

Widener is ranked lower Linfield in the D3 polls. Ranking versus seeding - and I tend to follow the ranking of D3 more than the seeding of the NCAA. Pat and company have year in and year out, (that I've been following here), done a much better overall job at determining the better teams in their weekly rankings.

Looks like the Johnnie hockey team is not bad this year.

How about an anti-beer commercial? This Canadian Club ad just came on the tube.  I hate it.

I was checking out the streaming video coverage of today's quarterfinal match-ups, and I must say that BoxCast had a great quality stream of the Mt. Union-John Carroll game.

If Stretch provides mediocre service this next year, I would recommend SJU take a look at BoxCast.

Ugh - tough loss for the Knights. It really looked like they had the game in hand. And as they say, that's why the Warhawks are still ranked #1.

The way the four winners played today I'd venture we may not see either Mount or UWW at the Stagg Bowl. I think next week's games will be real good ones.

While that could totally happen UWW and UMU played better teams (at least to me) then Linfield and Wesley. Games could go either way though, four excellent teams left. I'm pulling for UWW and Wesley Stagg Bowl.

What!?
At least it's going to be a Up With Purple semis and Stagg.

Yeah, I really thought they had them beat...once Schrader went down, it was lights out for the Warts in regards to staying in the game.

Fun game to watch, overall though.

FWIW, I'm pulling for a Linfield/Wesley Stagg. Love to see new blood. I actually believe it could happen this year.

We had our neighborhood Christmas party on Saturday.  I really don't drink a whole lot anymore, but the Mrs. and I tied a good one on that evening.  As if a hangover isn't bad enough, adding a 1-year old and a 3-year old to the mix made for an awful Sunday.  Ugh.  I used to be able to shake a hangover pretty quickly.  At 33 with 2 little ones, that's no longer the case!  :-X
