Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip, tmerton.  Would love to have you back to enjoy Johnnie Red's finest!

To hopefully add fuel to your son's fire,  I just caught this in Reusse's column in the StarTribune today:

ESPN's all-college outlet -- ESPNU -- remains seldom seen. It has ordered production of a series on the top 10 coaches in college history, and St. John's John Gagliardi is on the list.
SJU Champions 2003 NCAA D3, 1976 NCAA D3, 1965 NAIA, 1963 NAIA; SJU 2nd Place 2000 NCAA D3; SJU MIAC Champions 2018, 2014, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1985, 1982, 1979, 1977, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1971, 1965, 1963, 1962, 1953, 1938, 1936, 1935, 1932

D&D is so much better than Cable Guy it's almost unbelievable.

Not unbelievable to me; I consider Cable Guy unwatchable.  But based on your Top 3 recommendation I'll consider giving JC and "Flapp" a go if D&Der falls into my hand at the video store or comes up on the cable menu.

buf, do they still have Sawdust City Days in Eau Claire. I remember heading over to Eau Claire one summer with my teammates on the Johnnie cross-country team to run a five mile race at this celebration and then hitting Water Street after the race for the rest of the day drinking way too many adult beverages. Those were the days.

Johnnie Red,

They quit the Sawdust City Days back about 10 years or so ago.  But I think I heard that they are bringing it back starting this year.

I watched Cable Guy when it first came out. Had I not been in the theatre on a date with a girl who somehow liked the film, I would have left soon after the opening credits... the fact that my mom drove me on said date because I was 15 also helped keep me from leaving :) Obviously, the female in question is not Mrs KR as I would never marry a woman with that bad of a sense of humor.

D&D was actually on TBS last night, unfortunately/fortunately we only get 4 channels on the rabbit ears one of which is not TBS, so I spent the night studying neurology instead.

If it wouldn't cost more to mail it than the value of the film, I'd offer to mail you my copy on VHS to borrow. As is, any video rental place will probably have it in the $2 and under area.

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

KR- Seen it. Many, many times. As the father of 3 teenage boys, with whom I've shared my fondness for such classics as Animal House, Caddyshack and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the favor has been returned by them sharing D & D, Orange County, Office Space, Old School, Family Guy and the like with me.

Johnnie Red

Is it alright to admit that one of my favorite shows is The OC? It reminds so much of life here in Chaska. The Pacific Ocean vs. the Minnesota River; the dad being a civil attorney vs. Johnnie Red being a prosecutor; everyone driving a BMW or Cadillac vs. having to drive a `92 Buick Regal; the guys hitting on the babes vs. this guy getting hit on by a babe, be it a drunk babe and in another town, i.e. Belle Plaine. Now that everyone in The OC will be graduating from high school this spring, maybe they can move the college version to the Chaska area and if needed, they could film the dorm scenes at the one and only college in Carver County, Crown College (or as Bluenote would say, Clown College).

My favorite of the "current" films of this genre is The Big Lebowski.

ROR,

Don't you turn 5-0 this yr???

1956 was a most excellent year.  I'm sure your mother agrees.

Are you birthday present shopping for me already?

Fins, did he get any kind of "torch effect" on that one?  I've HEARD that works

Attention Veek:

Schedule the golfing outing and I will be there.  Would be a nice early summer occasion to drink Leinie's Red, play a quick 18, and bbq or head to a sports bar afterwards.  I am sure other members of MIAC PP would agree.

Teach the damn kid not to do the old ass-flamethrower routine in flammable pants!!

Bare assed is best, but jeans also work well as do gym shorts.

Yep, progney. We sue ya so hard, your progney will feel it.

And yes, good torch effect as that shot was taken at the Fins Up North Hunting Lodge where the menu consists of a lot of sausage, bacon, potatoes with onions, beans etc.
