It's good to hear that there is some semblance of hope in your lineage for which you should be congratulated for! Clearly, besides obviously being extremely attractive, your niece also possesses a good head on her shoulders. You should encourage her to marry and procreate with said boyfriend ASAP!

Fellas I need your help/opinion on something.
One of my nieces who is an incoming Jr. at the Carlson School of Management at the U of M has been dating this guy for a couple years and he's really a decent kid. There is one flaw..... he's a frickin' Tommie! I saw him again on Saturday at a family wedding and again,I'm impressed with what a decent kid he is. It's the Tommie thing that has me conflicted. Should I encourage him to transfer to the U of M? But knowing that the likelihood  of the Carlson School transferring credits from UST are slim and he may also be shattered  when the rejection letter arrives?  ;)  They're both business majors, just that's she's at the better school and will have more opportunities upon graduation.  ::) Or , just leave it as it is knowing that they're young and who knows how things will work out.

The lesser of two evils: marry a Carl (if your daughter can find one of the less quirky ones)

Safe to say she will have multiple offers before graduation, possibly this year as a junior if she has a good internship. Congrats 105 your niece must be a special young lady!

Getting pumped for fall camp to start!

QB comp should be intense at BU. A couple of very good returners seem to have the confidence of the receiving corps. And having guys push each other can a be a great thing. Hopefully the starter becomes clear before the season starts though.

One things for sure, Bridge Tusler is set to have a monster year. He essentially played football and basketball on one leg last year. His foot/ankle were in terrible shape - multiple games where it was touch and go if he could even play. Post surgery, it sounds like he's healthy for the first time in two years! His versatility on offense should give Peterson and Kirchoff the opportunity to get creative.

Can't wait for the season to start

Yeah, I know Tusler is a great player. My wife's cousin saw him play at Osseo and said he was the best high school player he had ever watched. I wondered why he did not break out last year. That explains it, must have been the injury that affected him at SDSU or South Dakota? (can't recall which school he started with)

Much earlier start than we've grown accustomed to for BU!  Very interested to see how the QB position shakes out...they've got enough talent elsewhere to be very competitive, but much will depend on this open item...we've gotten so used to the 3 or 4 year cycles for QB's at Bethel, that these seasons feel a bit odd when we don't know what to expect.

The MIAC should be very fun to watch as the standings develop this year...will SJU continue their running campaign through the MIAC, or will they be more aerial this year?  What does this year's UST look like after sneaking into the playoffs, and then nearly knocking off a very, very good Wartburg team?  Does CORD contend for the conference?  Can Gustavus make the leap into being a top tier team?  Can Ayrton Scott play both QB and middle Linebacker to give the Auggie defense a chance, and thus make Augsburg a contender?

;D

I think the real question is if he can stay eligible to play.

A tradition unrivaled...

He would tear it up in the middle but I would put him at safety.

From what I understand, the injury happened at SDSU. When the BU training staff saw him at the start of fall camp last year, they couldn't believe the state of the injury. Sounds like surgery probably should have happened after his redshirt season at SDSU. I'm guessing once he started looking to transfer he became a low priority for the SDSU medical staff.

Word is he has his explosiveness and quickness back and has been borderline unstoppable in summer b-ball. Hopefully that translates over to the football field too. I don't see any reason why it won't.

That would be impressive for basketball next year, as in the few games that I went to he was able to get to the hoop impressively well even against teams with height, for being a relatively short basketball player.

Tusler's injury happened in spring basketball before his first year at SDSU.  In addition to being red-shirted at SDSU and wanting to play basketball as well as football he transferred back closer to home to be able to play both.  If he's healthy again he's a threat to score everytime he touches the ball.  He might be most dangerous as a punt and kick returner.

With the leading rusher in the nation last year returning in Sam Sura my guess is that the running game will be a big part of the play book. That being said, once an opposing team loads the box to try to stop Sura,it's up to Nick Martin to find some open receivers. There is talent waiting to be showcased in this receiving crew, but make no mistake Sam Sura is the main course.

I'm eager to see who are going to fill the spots on D vacated by the graduation of  Rose & Workman. Speed kills and SJU has been stockpiling speed on both sides of the ball. It will be fun to see who steps forward and says "I'm ready"

I still get a kick out of cheering for SJU as a running powerhouse. After so many years of aerial attack it still seems strange and out of place, like walking into a newly purchased house and it feels like you're walking in a stranger's home.

Yea, the mid-90's through 2010 era was a wild time with pass happy QB's. I like to see points,but I'll take a 7-3 or 10-7 win over a 45-42 loss. ;)
