Johnnie Red

finsleft, I hadn't given it much thought. Too many things going on here at work and beyond. I suppose it would give me an opportunity to drive my "new" used Buick Park Avenue that I purchased this morning. 1999, 20,000 miles, owned by a gentleman who is 92 years old. Hopefully not raced around too much.

So what should I do with the `92 Buick Regal? Make it into the official Stiftungsfestivities vehicle? Get a few signs painted on the side? "Stiftungsfestivities Rocks!" "Bethel Knitting and Home School is for you!" "Get the equivalent of a two year degree in four years at Auggie Tech." "Hamm's is the only beer worth puking about!" Let me know your thoughts.

This is why I took grady sizemore in the 2nd round in my attempt to beat tdt, fins, mongo and willy in fantasy baseball.

Does dan gladden have an official website?  If not, we should probably start one.  Chances are good we could get it sponsored by a certain beer out of cold spring.   Frank, I need a pic of you with the Gladden cut out asap
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job

I think we should drain all the fluids out and park it next to the "double-wide, double-tall", then decorate it ala your post. We'll fashion a cooler out of the engine compartment and a grill out of the trunk. Then tint the windows and put in a porta-potty for the girls, #2, and TDT.

Whoa Nelly, let's hope the legislature gets it done for the University of Minnesota stadium. I would be happy to pay some more taxes to help fund this, since it is a state institution. And this is coming from a Republican. :o

Given my experience at Camp Randall in Badgerland the past two seasons courtesy of my son, I tell people here in our beloved state that there is no comparison between watching a game in Madison versus the Metrodome. It would be like comparing a game at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville to Auggie Tech.

Or Hamm's to other Beer?

I don't paint myself as a conservative but tend to lean that way a little on many issues - I'm just sick of politicians being so concerned with re-election that they can't get the U's stadium through.  This latest proposal irritates me because they are using their smoke/mirrors (Parcel of land in Rosemount) to give the public (i.e. those stupid enough to buy it) the impression this land isn't already owned by the state.  The U is the state, and the state is the U.  They should almost be ashamed of themselves - but if it works - I'm all for it!

I spoke with the Speaker about this issue at length a few days before the session opened. His order for stadium priority is as follows: Twins, Gophers, Vikes. I'm sure you all saw the ruling that freed the Twins from the Dome lease after this season...they can go anywhere they'd like if they don't like the situation. I'm not sure if doing two stadiums is viable this session, but Sviggum completely ruled out all three. Sorry Zygi.

With this being a re-election year, Sviggum said he expects those involved to pussyfoot around the subject matter. Clearly, it's a very emotional issue and taking a political stance on it will get some people very PO'd no matter which side they take. Better not to take one then, right?  ::)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Tuesday sounds good to me...I'll get done working around 5pm or so
Anyone else? Wooderson? Buckman? Duffman, I have a XX for you?
I'll have everything but the burgers unless Johnnie Red's coming, too. What say you, JR?

Too lazy to go read up to find out what's going on Tuesday.  Fill me in please Fins.

Whatever it is, I'm guessing I'll be in.
;D

And +K for the new car.
Trying to talk Ritz out of Morrison County for a night but he's got a bum wheel and has been laid up. We may hear from him soon.

Fins - a Tuesday or Thursday night work best for me to get together over an eelpout ale.  Give me a couple day notice and I'll be there.  The golf outing may grow to be so huge that it will take a number of preliminary meetings to get everything finalized.  I'm sure Frank is up to the task.
How about next Tuesday? Twins season opener will be on the big screen. (When's Fox going to go HD?) We'll talk golf during commercials. Frank? Anyone else?

Wow, no more Regal...what a sad day.  My thought is paint it white, put a red stripe down the middle, and put FAHEY on the front of the hood ala the SJU helmets.  Then you can make it a gameday vehicle.

A tradition unrivaled...

I should have assumed it involved Eelpout Ale...add the Twins into the mix and it can't get much better.  I'm in!

I recently picked a new primary care physician. After two visits and
exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing "fairly well" for my age.
A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him,
"Do you think I'll live to be 80?"
He asked, "Do you smoke tobacco or drink beer or wine?"
"Oh no," I replied. "I'm not doing drugs, either."
Then he asked, "Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?"
I said, "No, my other Doctor said that all red meat is very
unhealthy!"
"Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing,
hiking, or bicycling?"
"No, I don't," I said.
He asked, "Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?"
No," I said. "I don't do any of those things."
He looked at me and said, "Then why do you give a ****"?

Affirmative. You?

I think so...I haven't attended one yet.  What time does it start?  Do I need to go out for some beers before it starts?  Is it a 500 dollar a plate dinner?  Because if it is, put us down for two...in case we want seconds.

I think it's 5-7, $7.50 all you can eat. But use the coupons they sent you with your card. Then you pay $2.50 and get 2 free drinks. Can't beat that.
Call me later.

SUMMIT!!!!!

A man goes into a cocktail lounge and approaches a blonde lady who is sitting by herself

Man:    "May I buy you a cocktail?"

Lady:   "No thank you, alcohol is bad for my legs."

Man:    "Sorry to hear that.   Do they swell?"

Lady:   "No, they spread".

After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.
