Thanks, 57. I was referring to the TuneIn Radio app for the iPhone.  Both KOWZ and WDGY broadcast on TuneIn and carry Johnnie Football. Hopefully I can listen to games while warm in bed rather than sitting at the desk In the cold and dark watching Stretch. I found Stretch on the iPad insanely unreliable last year.

Last season Stretch was insanely unreliable on ANY platform!  Hopefully they have now gotten it together.

They were really good before last year. I wonder if they expanded too quickly and simply exceeded the traffic they could handle. Hopefully they get back on track...

He doesn't need a beer in his hand - there's a whole keg stashed in his beard! ;D

It's the end of the Aussie Rules regular season and the start of the Johnnie season so I won't mention Hawks football again until they three-peat (or not) in October.

I leave off the footy with one last video of Courtnaey Dempsy sling tackling Brett Deledio, knocking Deledio out in what became quite a dangerous flying suplex as opposed to tackle. Slinging players to the ground and them getting knocked out is a problem that has really risen in the last two seasons for some reason with changing game plans.

Here a some links...it appears you can watch the game online and follow them via twitter.
Did they really have those hideous Italia jerseys made for the trip or is that just photoshop.
I'm leaning towards not photoshop.

CT, could you clarify on the funding of this Italian trip? Was this paid for by each individual player/parents or was there some sort of school sponsored fundraiser to pay for the trip?

Generally when schools go on those kind of trips, it's a combination of the two. Some of it comes from a team's budget, some of it is fundraised by the program for it and some is paid out of the student-athlete's pocket.

Are we talking about the cost of a trip that only a portion of the team went on or the one the full team did to Canada just days before the smaller Europe trip? It's like Glenn morphed into Col Nathan Jessep and was able to make one entire trip disappear, and in the process create the illusion that 150 players, plus family and support staff, made their way to Italy.

The word 'epic' get's way overused nowadays. That said...his beard is epic. Holy freaking Eric the Red 2.0, he's the incarnation of Scandinavian ancestry. Here's to hoping the beard smells like lutefisk, too!  ;D

Looking forward to the season!...Yes I will be up at Clemens Stadium when the Johnnies lose to UST ;D.  I just don't think SJU can win 3 in a row!  If they do I will buy you guys a case of PBR...!

Whoever taught Chicago Tommie how to post a picture should receive a strong and decisive -K.

Good evening fellas.  Ready for kickoff.

Has anyone seen Veek?  I'm hearing he has multiple September conflicts...

Headed to Chicago in the morning.  Hope to see my pal Ferris B. in the bleachers...

Thinking about a trip to see my pal BlueDevilBob on Thursday night.  What kinda tailgating shenanigans can I expect in Menomonie?  I'm good for cheering intently against the hated Bethel Royals.

Faunch:  What are you smoking on?  I got a Big Green Egg this summer and it's better than sex (jokes here fellas).  Maybe we should have a competition.  Brisket, ribs, pork shoulder, chickens...

Hey Benchwarmer:  it'd break my heart to see you guys lose to the WIAC.  Please win.  The pain and agony on Caruso's face about 4pm September 26th is all worth it.

Thanks much,

The Management

Outside of Wartburg (and maybe Central), I'd rather UST play just about anybody in the IIAC to start the season as opposed to even a bottom-feeder WIAC team. UWEC by WIAC standards was awful last year and gave UST all they could handle in game 1. That said, the Italy trip in which all 130 players attended, earning valuable reps and team bonding playing the best American Football team in all of Europe will DEFINITELY get UST to the Stagg Bowl this year.  ;D

Say what you want about Coach Caruso taking a select group of dudes to Italy, but this was a brilliant move. I imagine the conversation went something like this:

Mrs. Caruso: Glenn, you're so busy coaching football I feel like we'll never go on that trip to Europe we've always talked about.
Glenn Caruso: In the interest of maximizing the efficiency in which I love my family and my F.A.M.I.L.Y., we will do both. Boom.

Tell me you guys wouldn't do the same thing.

ChicagoTommie: Bring Hamms.

A WSM...the Big Green Egg is for show.  I can do 4 pork shoulders on it or 3 briskets, or up to 10 rack of ribs.  Pork and brisket can be done overnight.  If I bring pulled pork on Saturday I will do an overnight cook....probably start the smoker around 9 or 10 pm on Friday and cook it through the night using the Minion Method.  http://virtualweberbullet.com/fireup2.html
Around 7 or 8 am Saturday pork will get packed in foil and place in cooler of the trip up.

No pulled pork on Saturday....to much going on.

I don't recall telling you that I had numerous September conflicts.  I did state that I have a wedding this Saturday so I won't be able to attend the game but that is the only conflict I mentioned.

I'm looking forward to a great season!  Go JOHNNIES!!!
Go Johnnies!!!

Heard Bethel won, but lost Landon Mathis for the season. How big of a loss is that for their defense?

Only caught bits and pieces of last night's game, and hadn't heard that.  Haz would know for sure, and probably be able to provide more commentary on their depth.

That is a major loss...he went down last year early enough in the year with an ACL as well that he got a medical redshirt.  Tough break for him, and definitely the loss of a significant leader.

Looking forward to the SJU opener tomorrow. I won't be in attendance, planning to live stream, but will be in attendance next week. Planning to bring my 8-month old to his first game.

I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural SJU J-Club Social last night. Blake Elliott & his wife Noelle were kind enough to host the event at their home in St Paul - just a wide left field goal away from UST. Hoping the good vibes from the event carry over to the field over the next 15 or so Saturdays.
