The Tommies looked like Walt Palmer out there posing with one of his trophies.

Reusse weighs in (no pun intended) ...

Of the three of us -- you, me, Reusse -- I'd say Reusse is in the best shape. He looks good, especially for a guy about to turn 70.

Every Sunday, without fail, after The Sports Show airs, my blog and the Q&A I did with Reusse gets several hits from people searching variations of "Patrick Reusse weight loss."

He's done well -- I'm impressed. I have to get back on the wagon.

I don't take exception to it. I think it's dumb but I'm hardly offended by it. It's like complaints about running up the score, whether SJU vs Bethel in 1993 or St. Thomas and SJU in 2011. Don't like it, stop them. Same thing here. Don't like it, don't let them beat you. But that doesn't mean it doesn't look ridiculous and/or just weird.

Wrong...classless and petty move by GC!!!  You don't shower, dress and come back out on the field an hour after the game has been decided and take a team photo!

I'm guessing that if the Johnnies had won yesterday and the Tommies still took a team picture afterwards then it wouldn't be an issue. Taking a team picture on an opponent's field may be a bit odd, but it sure isn't classless or petty.

Congrats to Coach Caruso on career victory 489. Next week should be special as he goes for 490.

Like it or not, the 50 yd line & logo is part of the unwritten rules of sports...don't walk across the pitchers mound, kick the ball out of bounds when an opponent goes down in soccer, etc. I'm honestly not bothered by the exact position of the photo, and it looks like they could use some alignment help. Though for many I think they see the fact of doing it at that spot, well after the game was over, as a sign of disrespect.

The curious part to me is that he grouped the players back together an hour after the game to do it. I would've guessed he had time to tell the team during his TO w/ 0:03 to stick around immediately after the game to take a pic. Why not simply let the players enjoy the moment...in the locker room, on the bus, however they see fit...instead of making another moment?

Again, they won & were the better team. Good for them.

I'm going to have to disagree with you about the timing. I think if they would have done it right after the game then there would have been a lot more backlash from the Johnnie fans. Sounds like you have seen the picture. Can you see the SJU logo in the picture? If not, what difference does it make where the picture was taken?

Can anyone explain why a roughing the kicker penalty on a made PAT doesn't get assessed on the kickoff?  Yesterday UST roughed the SJU kicker but no penalty was assessed.  The Johnnies declined the penalty and the point was put on the board.  It got me thinking that if I was a special teams coach I would coach my guys to hit the kicker every time.

It does get assessed on the kickoff, if accepted. I think you answered your own question - SJU declined the penalty. Maybe the coaching staff was confused - so it was a mistake by the coaching staff to decline it.

Oh yeah you can see the SJU logo. As someone else pointed out, Glen positioned himself at the top of the "1" in the U.

I'm man enough to admit that SJU got it handed to them yesterday.  No doubt U$T won the day and that can be bitter pill to swallow.
Early in the first quarter I had a sense the Johnnies were in trouble as U$T was easily ripping off about 5 yards per carry.  I thought that U$T's play calling in the 2nd quarter kept SJU in the game.  IMO if U$T had pounded it on the ground in the 2nd quarter they probably could have had a 2 or 3 TD lead at half.

I also think that SJU could have tried a few more screens or shovel passes against U$T fast and aggressive D.

As far as the post game picture it's my opinion that once both teams and their fans have cleared the field it's time to go home.  The benches and garbage appear to be cleared in the picture.  Maybe there was still too much traffic and the busses couldn't get off campus yet and the Tommie$ were just trying to kill time....who knows?

From my biased and personal perspective snapping the photo on the logo and centering on the 1 was disrespectful and unnecessary  Maybe I shouldn't take it so personally.

it will be good bulletin board material for the remainder of the SJU season and the next match against the Tom$.

It kind of reminds me of TO...Coincidentally this happened 15 years ago this past week.

That's not the team picture taken by St. Thomas, it's probably a picture taken by a Johnnie fan in the stands. It's so far away you can't even make out any faces so you can't deduce anything from that picture. I want to see the official picture taken by St. Thomas before I make any decision.

Hello RoyalsFan that photo was by Judd Zulgad (or an assistant) from 1500 ESPN Radio from the press box and posted to his Twitter feed.
As you can see in the foreground there are photographers, maybe even UST school photographers.

Here is a link to a photo from Mr. Pat Coleman's D3 Photography website
http://d3pho.to/g/5402  - it is the vey last photo on the last page of the album.
Official UST photo nope, but from a source I hope you can trust.

Once or twice, including yesterday. Haven't you heard of the parting of the Red Sea. No doubt Glenn could replicate it.

I happened to notice I'm blocked from following the D3 Football Twitter account. Any reason why?
